I think the main issues why Kimi doesn´t seem to rejoin McLaren are:

1) His wage demands
2) McLaren wanting a clear no.1 (Hamilton) and someone who plays second fiddle to him (Heiki) to prevent a 2007 situation from happening.
3) Norbert Haug and Mercedes not beeing Kimi´s biggest fans
4) Anthony Hamilton beeing on their back fuming "If Kimi joins us, I´ll search for alternatives for my son in the future".
5) Kimi not relying 100% on F1 anymore. Playing a bit of a waiting game to sort out all offers, if nothing special is included, I can see him taing a sabbatical or joining Nascar (because of the big prize money), I can´t see him in rally these days, which rally team can afford to pay 20 million dollars to their driver? None.

Would be cool to see Kimi in a Lotus, taking them back to former glory. Maybe Petronas can afford his salary.
Kimi rules out the new teams, basically all teams that won't have competitive cars. And NASCAR? Pfft, I think we will never see Kimi there. He never mentioned it as far as I know. I agree with all your points but the nascar bit.. i don't know where that came from! :<>:

HAHAHA i could never see Kimi lasting in NASCAR. It'll be a big culture shock and way too much press work for him.

It was just an idea, because there seems to be a lot of prize money involved in Nascar and Kimi´s management seems to be quite greedy to be honest. I mean he could have signed for Brawn or McLaren for 2-3 million a year, after his Ferrari contract he´s a very rich man anyway, instead there are talk of Toyota, a team that will probably never win a race...time to sack the Robertsons and get his career back on track.

Otherwise I fear he will be forced to take a sabbatical, sadly.

Well, Kimi said that the numbers for his Ferrari contract weren't true, so we don't know how much he exactly got. But you also understand that the managers are trying to make the most of it. That's what managers are for, right? I hope he'll eventually settle with Macca.

Pretty much just another rumour story

It is considered almost bought that Kimi Raikkonen will be much McLaren driver in 2010. However, the conclusion has been reached after long and Abu Dhabi (see Raikkonen go well at McLaren in 2010). But two obstacles must be overcome.

The first and most troubling, is the relationship between McLaren and Mercedes (see: early break between McLaren and Mercedes?). The German manufacturer has assured of his presence until the end of his contract, ie until 2011. In fact, Raikkonen won the Woking team is fully supported by the brand with the star until the end of his contract. Reassuring and for two years ahead of Mercedes's presence in the background of the factory in Woking.

The second question came to the Mercedes engine, which should lose his superb 2010. The Finnish seeking technical guarantees from the manufacturer, guarantees that have been slow to come. McLaren side, his responsiveness during 2009 convinced the world champion's ability to return to the front of the stage.

Side contract, Mercedes-Benz offered the same contract he had proposed to Kimi Raikkonen in 2006 to keep him in 2007 and 2008 McLaren alongside Fernando Alonso. A contract concrete, then two seasons, with guaranteed technical and sporting fairness. What reassure everyone.

The arrival of Kimi Raikkonen at McLaren coincided with an armistice between the two partners (McLaren Mercedes), but also the significant presence of Mercedes-Benz in the transfer of its partners (see McLaren, a line up of Mercedes-dependent) . A relative peace that will result in separation of property in 2011, but by then the presence of 2007 world champion will ensure an investment for the factory in Woking, and enable it to anticipate the future.

I hope Kimi go to Mclaren, it would be interesting to see him as hamilton teamate, but I think hamiton would beat him. But the best thing of that situation is the battle between raikkonen-hamilton and alonso-massa

Räikkönen: McLaren is my only option
29.10.2009 13:56

Kimi Räikkönen told MTV3 that McLaren is his only option.

- I haven't even discussed with Toyota, Räikkönen assured.

- If you want to drive a winning car then McLaren is the only option. My situation should be clear within a few days, Räikkönen hinted.

Agreed, IMO this would be the best for F1. Ferrari and McLaren with the best drivers, Button-Rosberg or Kubica-Glock don't even come close
