Ferrari F60 development

Ferrari F60 - modified rear diffuser
ImageImage

Ahead of Friday practice in Germany, Ferrari revised the F60's rear diffuser. Felipe Massa ran it in the morning session, both drivers in the afternoon's. The previous version, shown in the left half of this drawing (1), had just one vertical fence. The new version, shown on the right (2), now has three fences in order to improve the air extraction from the side channels.

There have definitely been improvements on the Ferrari, but I think there is a major problem with reliability. Whether it's an issue with KERS or just engine issues, it has taken them out of a couple races, such as China and most recently in Germany. Any more info on what that issue is?

On lap 14 a rock caused puncture in radiator and caused hydraulic leak due to which started to lose power.
Of course cannot be confirm this as their was no official statement on this ... this info was publish in Finnish media(TS).

RAISED FRONT BODYWORK

Ferrari during the free practices tested also a modified front chassis version with raised bodywork on either side of the nose around the pick-up points of the front suspension's push rods similar to the one already used by the Red Bull RB5 . Ferrari has become the third team after Brawn GP and Toyota to test such a configuration

Great one, bar555.
It's really amazing how the engineers try to find a mode to make the car perform better.
I love technical analysis of F1.

I've read that Ferrari have stopped development of the F60 to concentrate on their next car. But since next year's aero regs will be the same as this years, wouldn't developing the F60 help them with the F2010 development (or whatever it will be called)?
