It wouldn't surprise me.
USF1 look insecure at the moment, unfortunately.

The new president of the French team Eric Boullier revealed recently that the five candidates to partner Robert Kubica for next season. French journalists say that Renault remained on the list only two names. The final choice is to fall between Nick Heidfeld and Takuma Sato.

Jonathan Noble said on twitter that story about USF1 is nonsense, and that they're on course to be in Bahrain. Campos are trying to sell the team, they're far more insecure.

John Anderson joins US F1 team
The US F1 team has announced that John Anderson has joined the American squad as its new team manager.

Anderson has spent the last 30 years working in several motorsports categories in the US, including jobs with Gerry Forsythe, Barry Green, Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt Jr.

Most recently, Anderson was the team manager for Gil de Ferran's ALMS squad.

"I've known John and been close with him for nearly 20 years - to be able to hire someone as experienced, as organized and as successful as he is will only enhance our team as we move forward," said team principal Ken Anderson.

"He is simply the best at what he does and knows what it takes to be successful in motorsports."

John Anderson added: "I came to the U.S. for what I thought was a few years and I've never left, and I've had some good runs. Now to be able to have the opportunity to work with America's Formula 1 team, especially with my long-time friend Ken Anderson, is an unbelievable opportunity.

"Ken's mindset of US F1 - to have an open mind, be flexible and explore best practices, is why I'm here and I want to be a part of this."

Lotus: Two cars planned for Barcelona test
Having told GPUpdate.net that its 2010 Formula 1 car will make an on-track debut at the Jerez test in the middle of February, the Lotus team has now revealed that two cars shall be ready to run by the time Barcelona is visited for the final four days of pre-season testing. This year will see all pre-season running take place in February and in Spain, with Lotus F1 Technical Director Mike Gascoyne confident of the progress so far from the 1Malaysia-run outfit.
"We had been looking at firing up our engine for the first time on 12 February but, with the efforts everyone's been putting in, we have now been able to bring that forward to 5th February," the Englishman explained. "This is obviously a great boost for everyone involved in the team and shows how much hard work has already gone in since we had our entry confirmed on September 12.

"With the engine fire-up date now in the diary, we are also in a position to confirm that we will be on-track for the first time at the third official test at Jerez from 17 February and then at Barcelona from 25 February. We are also aiming to run chassis two for the last two days of that Barcelona test."

Furthermore, Gascoyne has revealed that a major in-season overhaul for the car will arrive in the form of a large aerodynamics update for the Spanish Grand Prix in May, Round 5 of the 19-race World Championship. "We have said we are aiming to be ahead of the new teams when we all reach Bahrain (Round 1) but we would also like to be pretty close to the midfield teams after the first few races of the season," he continued.

"The update we have planned for Spain will see a boost in performance when we reach Barcelona, which will give us the chance to start fighting with the slowest of the established teams which, given progress so far, has to be the next goal for us."

Successful nose crash test for US F1
The latest compulsory FIA crash test has run according to plan for the US F1 team, which saw its nose cone completely destroyed in order to ensure it meets the required standards to go racing. With all Formula 1 car components rigorously put through their paces before getting anywhere near a race track, US F1 travelled to Cranfield in Bedfordshire where its car's nose broke up as it should to confirm another successful test for the Charlotte-based team.

The outfit founded by Ken Anderson and Peter Windsor remains the only team yet to sign at least one driver ahead of the upcoming season.

McLaren reshuffles engineering crew
Spoiler:
McLaren has undertaken a reshuffle of its race engineering crews in a bid to help get the best out of both Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button this year.

The Woking-based team has promoted Hamilton's former race engineer Phil Prew to the position of principal race engineer - with engineering crews now to be built around each of its two drivers.

Andy Latham will become Lewis Hamilton's race engineer, with Jakob Andreason assuming a similar role for Jenson Button.

McLaren managing director Jonathan Neale said the team had decided to undertake the restructure as the result of Button's arrival and new resource restrictions coming into force this year.

"[There were] several reasons: firstly, we felt it was the right time," said Neale. "Both our current race engineers, Phil Prew [Lewis Hamilton] and Mark Slade [Heikki Kovalainen], have been the team's race engineers for more than 15 years.

"We've now got a number of very good people who are trained and ready to go – and we want to give them the platform from which they can make their experience and expertise really count.

"We also want to build an engineering team around Jenson, in exactly the same way we did with Lewis back in 2007. We want to create a strong group of individuals who can bring out the best in Jenson's naturally smooth style.

"Additionally, we're very keen to keep on developing our organisation. We've seen huge developments in aerodynamics, engineering and manufacturing throughout the team, and we are taking the reduction in trackside staff as an opportunity to strengthen race engineering.

"With the resource restriction agreement affecting the number of personnel we'll bring to the races this year, we also saw this as an ideal opportunity to look at how the process works and to make some changes accordingly."

Neale said ensuring that both Button and Hamilton were treated totally equally was a key factor

"We'd been looking at it since the end of the season, but, naturally, weren't making any decisions in race engineering until we'd finalised our driver line-up," he said. "Now that we have Jenson confirmed to drive alongside Lewis, we want to make absolutely sure we can do an equal job for both drivers.

"To help facilitate this, Phil Prew, who has been Lewis's race engineer for the past few years, is going to take on a new role as the team's principal race engineer. He'll travel to every race and will manage the set-up, development, and sharing of data and information between both race engineering teams."
