I have to admit, I'm really glad that neither US F1 nor Stefan GP will be on the grid in Bahrain. Actually I would be even happier with HRT also not participating, they will be just moving chicanes. First race and not a single test-kilometre, how on earth is that supposed to work?
Of the new teams I only see Lotus surviving in the medium-term. Just embarrissing for both the FIA and F1.
The last few months I was keeping silent about the new teams really, 'cause I didn't want to make a hasty judgement, but come on guys.....
All I read is, ' oh, it's a shame that Stefan GP isn't on the grid, that USF1 doesn't make it, that Campos struggles..' , etc.
I know these teams assumed that there'll be a budget cap in F1 and finally this didn't materialise. Thus, shouldn't they have put their plans to rest as soon as they knew this, pretty much like Prodrive pulled out after the customer-cars hadn't been allowed?
I'm the last one who opposes more teams in F1, at first I was as excited about this prospect as many of you, but I think those teams, although having a small budget, must be professional business operations.
I don't know how the FIA selects the candidates for new team-slots, but sth. clearly didn't work out, did it?
What's your opinion on this? Is it sad that teams like USF1 don't participate this year or are you glad that they're out?

It's a shame not to see Stefan on the grid. They were impressive in their passion and committment, and I sincerely hope that they get a 2011 slot.

It seems as if there was a fully built car after all
Villneuve wrote:"For sure I would have liked it to happen, especially since I get along very well with the people of the team"

"Since the holidays I've been saying that my priority is to be ready in case one of the new drivers isn't quick enough for his bosses, or in case one of the pay drivers wouldn't be able to bring the funding promised.."

"If there is something positive in all this it's that I had to step up my training with Erwin (Göllner, his physio). I suffered martyrdom, but I feel the best I have in a while."

"(The car) gave me a good initial impression and it looks to have been built with the tricks of the trade. Additionally, I see Mr Stefanovic and his team as serious people, they understand the engineering side of things. The base is there, but let's face it, the schedule was very tight."

I won't Believe him anymore :p

Anyway, Charlie Whiting is going to have a look at Mclaren's rear wing, so the issue should be clarified shortly.

McLaren confident about rear wing
Rear wing is already checked by the FIA, says Whitmarsh
Spoiler:
FIA technical chief Charlie Whiting is set to inspect the rear wing of the McLaren MP4-25 today in order to clarify whether the team's design is within the regulations.

Red Bull boss Christian Horner told British newspapers earlier this week that McLaren's rivals had queries over its airbox, engine cover and rear wing layout - amid suggestions that the design allowed the rear wing to 'stall' at high speed to improve straightline performance.

McLaren is confident that the car adheres to the rules, and the FIA confirmed that Whiting had been invited to check it at the team's Woking base.

"We have no concerns with it, but we have been invited by the team to view the car so Charlie is going down to have a look," an FIA spokesperson told the Daily Telegraph.

McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh expects Whiting to quickly ratify the MP4-25, telling the Telegraph that the team had sought clarification from the FIA earlier in the design process.

"The wing is different and innovative, yes," Whitmarsh said. "But we have been in contact with Charlie over a period of several months to check that it complies with regulations. We have been assured that it does."
