Spain 96 was a borefest.
To an extent I agree. There was no real action or excitement once the field had thinned out massively, and there was no real dice for the win once Schumi had sorted himself out and got past people. Same with Brazil 96, there was a bit of action further back, but the win of the race was never really in doubt. Whereas Monaco 96 once Hill had retired had all of the craziness of Panis vs. Irvine, the entertaining train involving Frentzen, Villeneueve, Irvine, Panis et al, and lots of retirements. It still wasn't the best race ever, but showed what a race should be.
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

@ TA:

I think it also depends on what you think of as "best"

Entertainment or the quality of the drive by the winner.

I think in terms of entertainment races like Barcelona 96 are not so good, but in terms of pure driving brilliance they are way up there.
Same with a lot of Sennas victories in the rain.

In terms of pure entertainment, Monaco 96 or Nürburgring 99 were better, but not the best driver won that day.

Yeah, I'm on the entertainment side of the fence. :p

Belgian GP in 1998, European GP in 2007, and Brazilian GP in 2003.

I don't think I'll ever forget turn 3 at Brazil in 03. Espcially when Schumacher was taken out!

Other great wet races were Nurburgring '99, Fuji '07, and of course Brazil '08. China this year was also pretty cool, but not as much as the above.
Fingers Crossed for Raikkonen at McLaren!!

By a LONG shot China 2007.

The last corner of lap 31 still makes me giggle like a little girl just thinking about it.

Hamilton deserved to be WDC in 07, even though Kimi won more races, but had Lewis not been screwed by McLaren he would have won China, Massa Brazil as he wouldn't conceeded the win to Kimi, so it would have been Lewis 5 - Kimi 4. But it happened like it did so we are where we are.

Well, it's not like you could change one thing and be assured that it wouldn't affect the events that followed thereafter. As for the Brazilian GP 2007, many say that Massa had the edge there and should have won. But in qualifying Kimi had the fastest time in Q2 and in Q3 he lost his chance for pole because Hamilton blocked both of his hot laps. His gap to Massa was about two tenths in Q3 so the time he lost was crucial. Kimi also had an extra lap or two more fuel than Massa so you could speculate that in normal circumstances Kimi could have been on pole and the win should have been his anyway.
