Yes, I am helping a US consortium creating a Formula1 team named USF1. It's in early stages but these guys hope to be on the grid in 2010 with their F1 car developed and biult in the USA. I hope we'll make a decent presentation in February.
F1 USA Team to join in 2010?
Re: F1 USA Team to join in 2010?
F1news.ru came up with their 'exclusive' word from Peter Windsor:
Re: F1 USA Team to join in 2010?
I don't think this team will last long if all its operations are based in the US. Just like Michael Andertti, commuting from the US to Europe every weekend just doesn't work out, especially with no F1 races in the US, let alone North America.

Re: F1 USA Team to join in 2010?
i dont know... 2 years ago they had a group of Australians actually travel the globe in a 12 race exhibition... its not that big of a deal
Re: F1 USA Team to join in 2010?
^1. Its the financial crisis. Unless we (and the world) get out of this soon, I'd find it very hard to believe this team would survive.
2. F1 is probably more expensive than a 12 race exhibition.
3. Name one F1 team that has all their operations based out of Europe.
I'm sorry if I'm being mean

true that
the last F1 team based out of the U.S. was in 1986
according to the speed report there will be something to come from this rumor

Man! I want to see Danica Patrick in F1. Nobody looks like this. She may not be good driver, but she will be the most beautyfull.
Re: F1 USA Team to join in 2010?
yeah - all she has to do is stand at the grid, take her top off, jump in the car and all the other drivers will be dumbstruck and drooling that they will forget what to do

And she'll fail in the first turn because she's not strong enough to drive an F1 car. I like your idea though.phil1993 wrote:yeah - all she has to do is stand at the grid, take her top off, jump in the car and all the other drivers will be dumbstruck and drooling that they will forget what to do
Re: F1 USA Team to join in 2010?
It just doesn't look like a promising venture. but being completely based out of the US and only having a small sit up in spain seems like a bad idea. They need to rethink this and get back to us with a better more promising idea.

since its been 4 years in the making i think they have figure out it will work... it was the best kept secret in F1
Re: F1 USA Team to join in 2010?
People say this will be another Super Aguri, but this has been 4 years in the planning (secretly - how!) and aren't reliant on money from a parent company, but anyway:

"90 per cent of the technology that exists in F1 comes from the US anyway"

I can't beleive this is actually happening. That website been around for ages but now i guess they have the countdown clock on it.
Re: F1 USA Team to join in 2010?
I know, I expected them to say 'It's a rumour, lets see' but it is happening
Meanwhile, <40 days until Melbourne Weekend!!! Not long. We're closer to the next F1 race than we are to the start of 2009 if you see what I mean.
