check this one out.....

Alonso said no to 2009 Ferrari switch

Fernando Alonso turned down an opportunity to switch immediately to Ferrari out of loyalty to his current F1 employer Renault.

That is the claim of a Spanish newspaper, following reports from Italy that the former champion has now penned a deal to race with the famous Maranello-based team in 2011.

Diario AS said Ferrari were prepared to replace Kimi Raikkonen but Alonso put a stop to the deal because it would have left Renault in the lurch less than three months from the start of the 2009 season.

"In short, the Italian team's sudden interest came too late for Fernando," AS said.

I don`t believe in one word, specially because it`s a Spanish source.

I think all the drivers would go into Ferrari if they get a chance. Except Rubinho and Hamilton of course.

I'd love to see Alonso racing for BMW, the red does suit him better than white though :p

When Autosport ran the new Alonso-to-Ferrari rumour they credited it to “respected journalist Pino Allievi”. James Allen on his blog added:
I have known Pino for almost 20 years and in that time I’m struggling to think of a single occasion on which he has wrongly called a move by Ferrari. He has excellent connections there, going back to Enzo Ferrari’s time. So you can take it as read that this story is true. And it will really shake things up in F1.
It'll be a Good move for Ferrari , Alonso is the best car development driver in F1 now .

Dunno if he`s the best but he is very good. Mclaren in 2007 were highly competitive (winter work ?!?) after the weak 2006, and look at Renault last year. I think he has the skill to drive the car in one test and then point the right direction to the team, be it development to be faster or a promising solution to one problem the car might have.

Maybe Zack, but Fisi is so slow it makes little difference...Also being a development driver won't be as important with all the new cost-cutting regs.

Can´t wait for the day when Fernando will finally sit inside a Ferrari cockpit. He should have been for the past 2 years. I hope he joins one year earlier in 2010, to replace one of the two current drivers.

In 2010 Raikkonen will retire, and Massa after an underwhelming 2009 will be let go.Vettel and Alonso will be the replacements. That's what I think will happen in 2010,as I'm sure this Alonso thing is true and I'm not convinced the team will back Massa as team leader in 09.

Thats just a speculation, but there is no proof of it. It may fit into the whole context but I dont think that will happen.
