if it was race wins that decided this season, than massa would have won by default as he
was given the spa race when he spent that whole race miles of the pace of kimi and lewis.
if it's not broke then don't fix it.

If they make the race win more points then the records will be broken, but that's what there made for!
So I think points for everyone!
30, 25, 20, 18, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
If you don't finish you get 0 so reliablilty is better than one win then DNF's.
Wins get 5 more than 2nd and 10 more than 3rd.
So I think points for everyone!

I think thats too taccy and far more US (indy car and nascar) style than fia style remember 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 is used for other FIA championships such as WRC and WTCC but maybe 1 point for Pole and 1 for fastest lap.kimi and mika wrote:If they make the race win more points then the records will be broken, but that's what there made for!

I think it is a good idea, the midfield battles will be really good. The top teams really need a top 3 finish and a DNF means you loose 30 points but you can get that back if they DNF. And yes, Force India will get points if they finish!

I don't mind the current point system,I think its necessary that the top 8 get points as the midfield is so close,and that teams like Honda need some return on their investment so they stay in F1.The one thing I like about the old days is the lack of having race fuel in qualifying.I'd love to see current quali without race fuel,and see the end of cars being stuck in parc ferme after quali.Lets have sunday morning warmup,and the end of saturday parc ferme.

you should also add something like - an "incentive" or "bonus" for a dnf - so they could choose; the points or the incentive for a dnf. like for example, an additional engine joker for every dnf

Sure, this one rewards lower end teams but I think it reduces competitiveness and the desire to overtake late in the race IMO (especially for podium spots).

Everything like it is now, except for the second place: 10,7,6,5,4,3,2,1.
In the old point system, there were only 6 drivers with points.. nowadays that's too short.. that old point system was there when a lot of drivers use to retire.. but now almost nobody retires, and of course if u have 3 strong teams as in the first half of the 2008 season, u know that the other teams have virtually no chance if nothing strange happens...

Yes i think the actual system is perfect. The old system has the risk that 1 driver can become very early world champion
