That Ferrari looks absolutely epic on track. I think all of the new cars will look more dramatic, except maybe for the Renault, unless they change their hideous livery.
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

Toyota, BMW & Ferrari test at Bahrain. Wheater prediction: Good.

Renault, Mclaren, Williams & Red Bull test at Jerez. Wheater prediccion: Bad

The test in Baherin are more expensive, but is very important for good championship start!!

119 pound is reasonable value for a test day when you get to see F1 cars in the flesh, and get food and drink free with it.Also these promotions show how much money these nations are willing to put into sport to promote their country.Bahrain are doing this is F1,Abu Dhabi are doing it in F1 and football with Manchester City.I can't see many test venues advertising like that.

Hmmmm I dunno, I wouldn't pay 119 pounds for a test day to be honest. Only 3 teams there as well

Bourdais is testing next week at Jerez, that pretty much all but confirms the rumours.
Bourdais to secure second Toro Rosso seat

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/73129

Sebastien Bourdais has moved a step closer to the second racing seat at Scuderia Toro Rosso, autosport.com has learned, as the Frenchman will test with the team next week at Jerez. Toro Rosso are the only team yet to confirm their full line-up for the 2009 season, having only announced Sebastien Buemi so far.

However, autosport.com has learned that Bourdais is now on pole position to secure the second racing seat, and he will test with Toro Rosso in next week's test at Jerez.

Although there is no official confirmation yet, the four-time Champ Car champion looks certain to secure the seat.

Bourdais made his Formula One debut with Toro Rosso last season, but was largely eclipsed by teammate Sebastian Vettel in the second half of the season as the Frenchman felt the car did not suit his driving style.

With Bourdais now likely to secure the seat, Japanese Takuma Sato's chances of racing in F1 next year seems to have vanished.

The former Super Aguri driver tested for Toro Rosso at the end of last year and was one of the candidates for the second seat at the Italian squad.

None of the new cars look great on track. They should have taken 1997 cars instead. Would have been cheaper and cooler :)

Sebastian Vettel was at the wheel of Red Bull Racing's 2009 car, the RB5, for its first ever track appearance here at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit. After the traditional photo-call, Seb completed the installation lap before returning to the garage for the car to be checked over. Over the course of the next few hours, he completed more laps providing useful information for the team, until concerns with the gearbox brought the shakedown to a close.

Christian Horner: "Following a successful shakedown, we stopped the car as a precautionary measure because the gearbox oil temperature was beginning to rise. We ran with our KERS system fitted to the car, but it was not operational. We simply carried it to assess its impact on other elements of the package, such as weight distribution, and to study the effects on the system of vibrations and other forces."

Sebastian Vettel: "The guys did a fantastic job to get the car here and ready for this first run. I was happy to be driving again, but don't ask me to comment on the feel of the car as it's far too early for that. With the shakedown out of the way, we can get down to developing the car starting tomorrow and over the next few days. Stopping early today was the right decision, as you really need to understand exactly what causes any problem on a brand new car."

The Ferrari F60 is back on the track: the appointment is set for tomorrow 10 February, at the Sakhir circuit. It will be the first of eight days of testing for Ferrari, until 19th February. Felipe Massa will be behind the wheel until Wednesday, followed by Kimi Raikkonen on Thursday and Friday, while in the next week Kimi will be on the track Monday, 16th and Tuesday 17th, with Felipe behind the wheel the two final days. BMW and Toyota will join the Scuderia Ferrari on the track.

The F60 will be fitted with some minor updates, especially on its two wings, while, all things considered, its configured as it was presented during the test sessions at Mugello. Over the last weeks the Team has been working a lot with the simulator at the FIAT research centre with Marc Gené, Andrea Bertolini and Gimmi Bruni: the main goal was to further deepen the knowledge of the new car and the behaviour of the 2009 tyres. Meanwhile at Maranello the Team analysed the first data collected of the F60's functioning, worked on the test bank and developed new aerodynamic solutions, which will be used at the first GP, on 29th March at Melbourne.

The test sessions at Sakhir will be intense: with this year's tests limited there are just 16 days left until the Championship starts. Therefore it will be fundamental to make the best use out of the remaining time. Under this aspect Ferrari decided, like over the last years, to test on the Bahrain circuit, considering the better weather conditions compared to Europe. Furthermore the temperatures will be above 20°C, which will enable the Team to examine the car's reliability and verify the tyres behaviour under conditions similar to the ones during the season.
