Point of view!
Starting his season with pole position in Australia GP, all eyes and thoughts are following him, to see what he can do after finishing a season with highest records of penalties and crashes.
From his first race he appeared in new look (rather than his new beard) his “calm driving style”, which is very rare to see him driving with! This made his followers to be satisfied with third place on the podium, since all were strained remembering his last season, with full hope for the second race.
Second GP in Malaysia, second pole, second third place, and first rainy race in the season, safety car in, remixing all cards, pad pit stop from McLaren, and again, his new style: very calm, avoiding any kind of risk, and much slower!
Third GP in China, no pole this time, but third place for the third time, Mercedes guys inserting their cars in the front row, Lewis fighting very hard to keep his car on the podium, as previous: very slow in the race, no attempt to take any adventurous movement!
Doubt becomes deeper in our minds: “Lewis afraid from repeating the last season scenarios”!
This week, Bahrain GP, nothing change, even McLaren bad stops were repeated, with his new style, but this time this style don’t give him a place on the podium!
This season, Lewis is “extremely” calm, as in the last season he was “extremely” adventurous! But being in the extremes areas, will lead to the same results, what he needs is a “mixture” of last Lewis 2011, with a little of new Lewis 2012, to have a final “reasonable” formula of Lewis, who will know when he can take a risk which will push him on the front, and when he can be far from any risk which maybe pulled him back.

The only logical reason driver adapts is to go faster in the race. Current car might suit calm style or more obvious would be tires. I would go with sensible driving over 'extreme' ~ aggressive. Lewis is doing good

This is not the Lewis I knew 
he's been harsh on himself last year and everybody is putting pressure on him to deliver, that's why he gave up his spectacular driving and replaced it with this new slow, boring and yet not rewarding style. he still didn't win!
Lewis have to do his thing like he was doing since he came, that's what makes him Lewis.
