A new champion is born: Sebastian Vettel
For the first time in his young career, Vettel was proudly pole position, but is under a safety car as the start of the race would be officially given.
Nothing, however, will get across the road from Sebastian Vettel and his Toro Rosso, brilliant winners of their first Grand Prix with skill. The German - for 21 years, 2 months and 12 days - became the youngest winner in the history of F1!
Heikki Kovalainen and Robert Kubica - also winning their first Grand Prix this year - complete this unexpected podium at Monza before Alonso and Heidfeld.
6th, Felipe Massa is up to a point on Lewis Hamilton, 7th, leads the drivers.
The European season is now closed. It is in Singapore - 26, 27 and 28 September - that will meet the players in the Formula One Circus for the first Grand Prix night in the history of the world championship.

Re: A new champion is born
Getting pole was fantastic and I thought in the dry he would come third and in the wet he could come second. How wrong was I. He drove a great race and outperformed kovalainen in a mclaren he fully deserved to win the race especially since at the start of the year toro rosso were so bad only better than force india and super aguri.

Michael Schumacher salutes the''great''Vettel, Roster is running…
The German Michael Schumacher, seven times world champion Formula 1 at retirement, welcomed the success in the rain on his compatriot Sebastian Vettel at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza Sunday, describing it as "absolutely brilliant. "
"It has been disturbed by anything today, nor weather, nor a change of strategy. It was absolutely awesome, "said Michael Schumacher at the microphone of the German TV station RTL.
Vettel is now 21 years driving a modest Toro Rosso, powered by Ferrari, the youngest driver in history to win a Grand Prix. It is the first German to win in F1 from Schumacher, whose last victory dates back to the Grand Prix of China in October 2006.
"It reminded me of many things, if only to hear the German and Italian anthems as a result, it is interesting to see the parallels" admitted the former Ferrari driver, about one who is regularly presented in Germany as the new Schumacher.
Michael has, however, refrained from making Vettel a future world champion: "It is still far too early to talk about it, but it has definitely the potential to move in this direction and to achieve that goal. But by then, the road is still long. "
Author of the pole position Saturday, Vettel had revealed that he had long trained on the karting track Schumacher, who regularly advises, Kerpen to prepare to run in the rain.

Absolutely awesome drive today from Vettel.
Re: A new champion is born: Sebastian Vettel
In all wet races he have drove , since 07 season till today , Sebastian Vettel have been the most impressive , risky and consistant driver on the track ...
I guess that this guy with Massa , Webber , Sutil , Glock will be on a high cost later during the seasons ...
Actually most of the german born drivers are masters of wet weather , in today's comparation between Vettel and Kovalainen we have seen that Vettel's Laps are steady meanwhile Heiki's different laps ...
1rst of all Congrats to Toro Rosso , Congrats to Newey as STR3 is a copy of RB4 with diff engine , Gr8 driving by Sebastian , Superb drive by Fisico who kept kimi stuck for several laps , Well done and a big one for Lewis Hamilton who is proving he's a chaotic driver every race and every overtaking he does ....
Many to say but i will keep some comments for later ..

He sure is a future champ. Today, some people are saying that it was all clear track how he won. But Kovy had clear track too, and was nowhere near his pace. And Vettel had a dry set-up.. Imagine what Vettel could do in a top car!!
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

exactly twistedarmco, vettel imagine what can be done with a top team, is the new schumacher.
I imagine that the next step for vettel after red bull racing is good to join scuderia ferrari.

Re: A new champion is born: Sebastian Vettel
I'm so pumped because i can't beleive he actually won this race !!! Could we have the next youngest world champion?? Who knows but i can't wait for next season when he's going to have a somewhat better car.
Re: A new champion is born: Sebastian Vettel
If Red Bull racing will keep Renault engines ? i dun think he will be shining as he is now ... i guess a small change for Red bull engines for a German engine like Mercedes or BMW would be superb cause Renault's engine doesn't suit Red Bull ...
Not only Red Bull also Williams's Toyota , Force india i think giving them a second season would be good before judging ... Honda's blame is on the Design they totaly failed ...
Okay we always talk about 1 driver from a team and forget the 2nd driver in the team for example Vettel's win and results made us forget Bourdai's bad luck during the 2-3 last gps ! what would have happend if Bourdais's car didn't turn off !

Certainly a new champ is born.As many say "Baby Schumi". Very promising driver specially in the wets.Youngest & first one to to get championship points on his debut with BMW Indianapolis 2007. Great Drive at a rain soaked Fuji ( but he crahsed into webber)-another great drive in Shanghai 2007 finishing 4th.In 2008 great drive in a wet Monaco, chaotic canadaian gp & since valencia a regular scorer. I think he must be with BMW Sauber, certainly we have a lot to see fro this young gun.
