Bruno Senna

Post by blizzard » 20 Jul 2008, 20:27

I just want to know what you guys think about him.

I my oppinion he´s got the potential to be a future Formula 1 star and maybe world champion.

Considering the fact that he started professional motorracing in 2004 when he was 20 years! He´s developing fantasticaly and his talent is amazing.

This is only his second season in GP2 (his first one at a top team) and he´s currently second in the championship with a (small) possibillity of winning it.

Ok he´s still making a couple of mistakes at times like he did in Silverstone, but his level of intelligence in terms of car setup and his pure speed impress me alot. Especially when you keep in mind that this is only his fourth professional season in motorracing.

Without his bad luck in Istanbul (the dog) or Magny Cours (technical problem) he would be right up there with a fantastic chance of winning the GP2 series this year already.

I would love to see him in a Ferrari or McLaren someday, in my oppinion his potential is hughe. His only problem is that he´s already 24 and has not even tested a F1 car and his racing experience is very limited compared to 99% of the other drivers who started as kids or teenagers.

But I´m also quite surprised, that he hasn´t tested a F1 car yet.

To me he´s the biggest prospect since Hamilton and I´m sure he would already drive in F1 had he started racing earlier
and maybe he would also be better than Lewis at this point had he done so.

and he hit a dog... which f1 driver can say they have done that?

I think Bruno would be a surprise package for 2010. He could be heading to Red Bull or Williams. I don't see Nico continuing in Williams after 2009.

He's got talent, money and a good reputation, but I think either another season in GP2 or a testing role for an F1 team would suit him for next year.I think he's a touch overrated (He's a long way back from Pantano in GP2) and needs more experience

Do you mean in terms of points or class?

Because he had some bad luck, technical failure and that dog :cheezy:

I think that he'll enjoy driving in Formula 1 but he will hate being constantly compared to his uncle. So I would rule out him going to teams such as Williams or Mclaren. Like Jacques Villeneuve never went to Ferrari.

He's certainly talented, but less experienced than other drivers in his age. Unfortunately he had to stop his racing career after the fatal crash of Ayrton in 94 for some years and I don't think that he will be as successful as his uncle, but I still hope that he can do it.
I wish him the best for the future and maybe he can win championships in F1. First of all he has to win the GP2 title this year to impress the team bosses in F1.
Maybe he could drive for Toro Rosso someday because Gerhard Berger was a good friend of Ayrton and he still helps Bruno nowadays, as far as I know.

I honestly think his chance of making it to F1 is pretty slim. Age is a huge factor and I think he's overrated and people look at him just because he's a Senna...am i wrong for saying that?

No feel free to post your oppinion.
Maybe you´re right, maybe not. We´ll see in a couple of years
I think it´s a bit too early to say that.

I have same opinion but this help him.i think he is in the best 5 list in current gp2 line up and he'll drive f1 in next 2 years but not for Ferrari , Mclaren or BMW .. probably RedBull or Renault.

To be honest, it isn't the best driver who gets into Formula 1, it's the one with the most money. That's all motorsport is about. There are so many great talents out there but they just can't get the sponsors, especially now with the credit crunch

Racing is in his blood; the head, the skills, the hair, he's got it all from uncle Ayrton

But his uncle has the fame and the experience. Face it, without his name, he wouldn't have even got this far. Cruel words, I know but it's the cruel truth.
