Worst Circuit Ever?
Worst Circuit Ever?
The idea is to vote for the worst circuit, in terms of the design, how it influence in how boring are the races or how dangerous it is

Re: Worst Circuit Ever?
I voted for Detroit because it was too slow and too twisty especially for the turbo cars.
But perhaps even more important. It had no flair like other street circuses (Macau, Monaco).

I vote Hungaroring. Normally, is very very very bore GP. I remember two of fiftteen GP of Hungary, which not boring - 1997 (Damon Hill's performance) and 2006 (raining).

i vote for dallas, because i remember some comments of this Grand Prix: ''The race track was laid out on surface streets surrounding Texas State Fair Park. However the Fair Park circuit sustained damage during a support race and required repairs to be made to it the morning of the Formula One race. The F1 race, combined with the oppressive heat caused the track further damage.''

Re: Worst Circuit Ever?
i went to a1gp at brands hatch yesterday and i was given a free season review of 06-07. ive just watched a bit of it and seen how rubbish the jingkai street circuit in china was. i think they changed it for this year, but there was lots of smog and the hairpin was too narrow for he cars to get around, so they had to change the track.:
from wikipedia:
The first Chinese round of the 2006/07 A1GP took place on the streets of Beijing. However, the tight hairpin at the end of the backstraight was far too tight for the cars to negotiate safely, as there was literally, a 180 degree left turn. Cars were running wide and stopping mid corner, therefore the sessions were red flagged.
A shorter circuit was created, creating another less tighter hairpin halfway up the straight, bypassing most of the old straight. Again, this corner is still not perfect as drivers still run wide despite it being wider, and have to avoid the pitlane entry barrier. It would have to do, otherwise the racing would have to be cancelled.
However, another problem arose in qualiying, when manhole covers on the roads were coming undone due to the racing cars high downforce and low center of gravity. Grid positions were decided upon practice times. Some advertising banners also came loose around the circuit.
It was announced the races would start behind the safety car, as the first corner was also deemed unsafe.
Both races were uneventful, particularly the Sprint Race which took place almost entirely behind the safety car after course officials failed to remove a single spun car in a timely fashion.
These numerous incidents have lead to questions about the management and organisation of both the event and A1GP in general - for example the host and guest on the UK presentation of the event on the Sky Sports network were highly critical of the lack of spectacle at what was, prior to arrival of the media at the track, anticipated to be a landmark defining event for the series.

Re: Worst Circuit Ever?
There's one circuit you've omitted , you also need to add Catalunya to that list.Asides from it's first race in 1991 which was good (Senna/Mansell down the straight) pretty much everything since then has been painfully boring .Only things worth remembering are: 1994 when Michael Schumacher managed to finish second despite having a Benetton that was stuck in 5th gear for 41 of the 65 laps.1996 when Michael pretty much crushed everyone in the pouring rain such that his fastest lap was 2 seconds faster than Rubens Barrichello's (or anyone else's ) lap.You could also say the end of 2001 was memorable too - Hakkinen's clutch went on the final lap.Apart from that it's been boring.
I agree though that the Caesar's Palace car park of Las Vegas has to be the worst F1 track ever put together...

Just because you like it on the PS2 means other people aren't allowed to vote for it?formulaonemadman wrote:why is hungary in there-i know its not the most exciting race for us to watch but its not a bad track- its my favourite track to race on ps2 and shouldn't be put as a option

Re: Worst Circuit Ever?
i think indy just looks bad as its so flat without any interesting landscaping. all they did was think 'right, lets get formula one cars here. we need cool corners'. When finished: 'Whoa, Bernie's gonna love this!!!!' osweat:jacques35 wrote:indianapolis middle sector in worst
