I sort of agree with that. In my opinion, it's so very dull to watch on TV. For me, just the sight of tree-lined circuits, gravel traps and good old-fashioned grass is enough to make me happy.
Bahrain in particular nearly sends me to sleep. There's no atmosphere to it, at least it seems it from my perspective behind a telly screen. And that's how the vast majority of F1 fans watch it, on TV. I was excited about the idea of a race in a desert, but they just built the circuit, a grandstand and a large round building, and left. In my opinion, the fact that there haven't been any really good races there yet means it hasn't got much of a soul.
The only circuit of Hermann Tilke's I really like is Sepang.
Re: Worst Circuit Ever?
The last Buenos Aires was awful. The one on the 70's was much better
Re: Worst Circuit Ever?
Mhhh very interesting question.
For the circuits which are listed here:
Las Vegas (USA)
-> I don't know the circuit. It was just before the time I was interested in F1.
Mount Fuji (Japan)
-> Last year you couldn't see what disadvantages this circuit has because of the rain. Waiting for this year.
Buenos Aires (Argentina - last used)
-> I always like this circuit. We had exciting races there. The last in 1998 was great. I remember when it started to rain there were a couple of spins.
Dallas (USA)
Detroit (USA)
-> Don't know what to say about this ones.
Singapour (Singapour)
-> Waiting for this year. The first race at night and on a circuit like Monaco it can be a great race.
Hungaroring (Hungary)
-> To me this circuit is the worse of the circuits which are called here. Only the 2003 and 2006 races were exciting.
In my opinion Barcelona, Magny Cours, Silverstone and some Tilke circuits like Shanghai or Istanbul are the worse at the moment.

Hungaroring. It's too slow for Formula 1 and track is always poor condition.

I would not accept Hungary to be a bad one. I hope they improve the facilities.

Ouch. Poor Istanbul. I think Bahrain is the really poor Tilke circuit, but Istanbul and Shanghai are cool, and Sepang is infinitely the best Tilkedrome.melody wrote: In my opinion Barcelona, Magny Cours, Silverstone and some Tilke circuits like Shanghai or Istanbul are the worse at the moment.
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

Re: Worst Circuit Ever?
Bahrain isn't a good track because i don't see any interesting pass that can be made in that circuit. Jense tried an ambitious move and ended up his race as well as DC's in gravel trap ( oops there is no gravel trap in Bahrain !) ... I think they probably need to alter the area supporting the circuit. You should have gravel traps which can stop sliding cars rather than allowing them to coast all the way to barriers !

You should have mostly concrete or astro turf, with strips of gravel so that anyone who does go off gets their tyres dirty as hell/has a chance of damaging the underbody.

Re: Worst Circuit Ever?
I said Las Vegas, because it marked the end of Watkins Glen, and it was built around a car park! Who would want to sit in the Nevada desert sun for about 2 hours with nothing in sight but tar? NOt to mention the tiny pit areas ;)
Re: Worst Circuit Ever?
Sepang and Hungaroring because both are boring (any great overtake, any action)
Jean Todt, Ross Brawn, Rory Byrne, Michael Schumacher = DREAM TEAM

Re: Worst Circuit Ever?
i'll go with hungary grand prix .. bored race every year .. and 2008 made it the worst circuit of all time cuz of the bad luck of Massa
