USGP DEAD AGAIN?
What's the deal with the FIA and the USGP? Why did the FIA pull the race from the United States again? Was the plug pulled because of low attendance or Tony George?
Please help me to understand

Re: USGP DEAD AGAIN?
because the indy trackis s***, although some of the racing was good.
I think it was a bit of a disagreement between Bernie and George

Re: USGP DEAD AGAIN?
Both got greedy. And Bernie only allows only one person to be greedy at f1, himself.
Re: USGP DEAD AGAIN?
It's all about the $$$. Or Euros.
Re: USGP DEAD AGAIN?
maybe the US isn't really meant for f1, maybe f1 should try out an oval race...maybe US would bite

Re: USGP DEAD AGAIN?
Bernie didn't do his home work, he took the Speed Circus to the wrong venue. The money Tony George dumped to Indy would have been better spent on a brand new road racing course in Las Vega$.
There's tons of international cash and F1 fans in Vegas. Consider this... big fight Saturday night and big race on Sunday!

Re: USGP DEAD AGAIN?
F1 cars are not meant to be driving in oval circuits, I think...
But a race in Las Vegas would be great :cheezy:

I think, if they have a street race in Hollywood, with all the dumb ass stars the F1 will attract huge amount of spectators and fans, Vegas this sport is not well known to most Americans they need a "celebrity figure" to attach it to because the sport lacks an identity in the USA. Where Nascar is a bigger in the midwest and with blue collar working class people ,,, what do you think?
Re: USGP DEAD AGAIN?
I think they should build "normal" F1 racetrack somewhere near NY or/and Chicago - cities with enormous euro immigrants population (myself included). 50 000 people on race weekend guaranteed - Italians, Germans, Polish, British, Finnish, Spanish, etc etc.MSC83 wrote:I think, if they have a street race in Hollywood, with all the dumb ass stars the F1 will attract huge amount of spectators and fans, Vegas this sport is not well known to most Americans they need a "celebrity figure" to attach it to because the sport lacks an identity in the USA. Soccer is a perfect example to understand what i am saying, take a look at Beckham and what they did to him in hollywood.
You need to let the people feel related to it, and i am not only talking about attracting harcore fans like you or people on this form, i am talking about attracting people who will make a US GP look more Financially attractive

Us and F1 aren't really a link I mean Us have Nascar IRL and hade the champcar so there not interested in F1 they think its something for european. (This isn't for every American I know there a people that are huge F1 fans)
Re: USGP DEAD AGAIN?
i agree with hamiltonF1, the usa have nascar, irl and plenty of racing, f1 isnt needed

I'm European, I live in the US for about 15 years now - as far as I can see - you are VERY wrong.
Sorry to bust your bubble, but Nascar is extremely lame and boring, so is (was) Indy and Champ. Even Americans who like racing can see that. Who follows Nascar and Indy? I don't want to be rude - but only narrow minded, hamburger eating rednecks, that have never been anywhere outside US.

Re: USGP DEAD AGAIN?
I do believe people in the US enjoy F1 racing, a lot of Americans travel abroad to see a "Real" live GP race. I don't really care for the pretenders (IRL,Champcar) and I absolutely hate Ad..oops Nascar! F1 is the purest form of auto racing hands down...why you ask? The F1 speed circus waves the green flag rain or shine! Need I say more..... Nascar can't race a box of "Tide" on a rainy day.
