I used to agree with you, but with the rules being heavy handed about engine development in the last 20 years due to "safety" and other nonsense reasons they have seriously gotten behind on innovative technology.

I look for the new IRL/CCWS merger to bring a serious technical advancement to the auto industry much sooner than F1 will.

if the new irl/ccws could come back to how it was with CART in the early nineties that is a definite possibility, but it could take a while. nevertheless, i will be at my local ICS race at belle isle this fall.

A1GP is ok, but it is kinda like watching F3000. actually F3000 and GP2 are way better than the A1GP races i have seen.

F1-the most exciting sport

A1 is more a fighting classe
in A1 you see a lot DO OR DIE actions
than you see in formula 1

The first form of motorsports that I watched was CART, the level of competition in the late 90's was seriously good..Chip Ganassi versus the Penske cars..and the hype that JPM brought from there to F1. Loved the little wings that they ran in the ovals, and the insane speeds that they reached (was it 240mph??).

But A1GP has a nice broader appeal possibly outside the snobby F1 circles especially if some the non-standard winning countries in F1 do well (malaysia, india, new zealand and the daddy - CHINA)

A1 GP is boring because all of the cars are basically the same. I have never actually watched any race of it. But, I follow news.

F1 is way above that!

F1 is easily the better. More glamorous venues, better drivers and better atmosphere. However, I quite like the idea of having all cars the same. If that was to happen in F1 then It would allow the likes of Super Aguri to race the Ferrari's and could lead to Taku Sato becoming champion.haha :cheezy:

F1 because iot is the top motorsport, best drivers, quickest cars, great circuits and also it has the history. A1GP has none of these. I would compare A1 with GP2.

A1 GP is not as glamorous as F1 but in terms of racing and wheel to wheel dogfight, A1 GP is way better. Also, you don't get the same 2 team winning all the time.

I do not think A1 has charisma to take over Formula 1. It is always F1 for me.

For me, F1 is the most exciting sport

a1 gp is kinda of more a level playing field as all teams have the same car...but the glam and the technology going behind f1 is definitely more interesting to watch
