Red Bull have launched the RB4
Doesn't look much different to last years, same car
Also they announced today is the appointment of Sebastien Buemi as the team’s test and reserve driver for 2008. The 19 year old from Aigle in Switzerland, will combine this role with a GP2 race seat with the Arden team. Last year, Buemi took part in five GP2 events, replacing the injured Michael Ammermuller, but his main focus was the Formula 3 Euroseries, in which he finished as runner-up. In 2002, he was European Karting champion and runner-up in the ADAC BMW series in 2005.

the new RB is very similar to last years RB, although i do like the livery!
looks like it could be quick, hopefully the reliability problems will be sorted for this season.

Red Bull claims to aim for the 3rd in the constructors standing, but it sounds quite over optimistic to me. Of course they had the speed many times last season but the poor reliability prevented them from eventually scoring so many points. Yesterday afternoon an apparent engine fault halted their car though so the car is still not as reliable as with the top guys.

RB3 had great chassis, aero, suspension, engine but the transmission sucked, The team has tried to work on the reliability going out from the design of the New car (RB4)

3rd is way too optimistic.

thought they might have improved, I'm sure they are not on the same level as BMW or renault.

Also, they have the tallest 2 drivers, with any implications it can have on the cell of the car.

to finish third you would need both drivers to finish in the points for just about every race... is red bll capable of that?

i dont think so yet. i think it is clear that this season will have three top teams with BMW a close fourth. red bull, williams and maybe even toyota would sit in the next slot and then the rest!

although, i think toro rosso seems be a team to watch, they have been impressively quick, shows how good vettel is. they went from dnf to dnf last season and then when he stepped in the car, he almost took home third (the crash behind hamilton) and finished fourth in another race! great effort and a great platform to build from.

Red Bull boss's asked whether he expected a victory this year, he said: "I doubt it can happen in a race under normal circumstances. We target wins for 2009. This season both drivers should achieve two or three podiums each."

If RB4 can challenge for 3-4 podiums this year with no special circumstances involved that will be a success to the team

Teams Launched:
Ferrari
McLaren
BMW
Toyota
Red Bull

Cars to launch this month:
Hoonda (29th)
Renault (31st)

actually i suppose youre right, it is pretty niave of me to think renault will immidiately return t form.
but, mclaren immediately returned to form when alonso joined and renault flopped. i think alonso will win at least one race this season. per it would be fair to say that there will be 4 top teams.
then again, testing isnt the most complete indication of what cars can do.

Alonso will win 1-2 races -- in the best case --, but I definitely
believe that McLaren will dominate the whole season and why not,
will put Ferrari to shame for what happened last year, when
absolutely everyone was against them, especially the FIA. Then
Ferrari, BMW and Honda. Next -- probably -- Renault.

Kimi won't have the slow start he had in 2007 as he and the team know each other already this time around. With McLaren "suspending development" of various parts of their car, and Renault and BMW having a way to catch up, it looks like the two Ferrari drivers should have a private fight for the title. Now Kimi has done it once, I expect him to do it again.

Every time the rules change we might see a surprising shift in the teams' strength. Just look at what happened to Ferrari, McLaren and Renault in 2004->2005. Or what happened to McLaren in 2005->2006. There are countless other examples, too. So it's not so overly optimistic (yet) to say that Renault might be fighting for the championship. Of course it will surprise everybody, but it's happened before.

Maybe you're right, we will see what happens as Kimi likes to say.
This is my feeling that McLaren will be the dominant team in 2008.
Remember, there will be no TC and some of the drivers will find it
quite difficult to adapt. I don't think this will be the case for Kimi,
Lewis or Fernando. But for Massa it will be. And I'm not sure if
Heikki can keep it up with Lewis, but after a few races, he'll be
on top for sure.

You say that Kimi will have a better start -- then what kind of start
Lewis will have?

McLaren wants to show everybody that what happened last year
was wrong. They were executed publicly. That's all.
