2008 Car Launches & pictures
Re: 2008 Car Launches & pictures
welcome back raikks osweat:
While Ferrari have adjusted their airbox to protrude a little more to the front, McLaren have taken a different approach with a similar purpose. In fact the team chose to cut out some bodywork just behind the driver's helmet. Clearing up the area under the airbox allows to reduce some drag caused by the turbulent air caused by the cockpit opening and the helmet. Since the roll hoop is incorporated into the airbox and is required to be very rigid, the connections that protrude the new open space are necessary for strenght purposes, rather than aerodynamic gains.(f1technical)

Re: 2008 Car Launches & pictures
Before testing, my top 5 for 2008:
Drivers:
1. L.Hamilton
2. K.Raikkonen
3. H.Kovalainen
4. F.Alonso
5. F.Massa
Constructors:
1. McLaren/Mercedes
2. Ferrari
3. BMW
4. Renault
5. Honda
It will be interesting to see if Heikki will beat Kimi, but I do not
think so. In a few races, he can finish in front of him, or
-- who knows -- maybe overtake him. Lewis already did it a
few times last year, so it won't be such a big surprise.

Re: 2008 Car Launches & pictures
the number 13 is recognised globaly as an unlucky number, hence why most hotels/apartment blocks do not have a 13th floor, the elevator goes 11, 12, 14, 15.
same rule applies for F1 i suppose. not wanting to give anyone an unfair advantage.

Dude, I understand that 13 can be an unlucky number and it's
okay to be more careful or stay indoors on the 13th of the
month, but not to number a block or a hotel with the 13th floor
it's hilarious.
Many crazy people on this planet.

Check out McLaren's front wing. The same as last year.
Probably, this type of front wing was not suitable for a
presentation at the Mercedes-Benz Museum.
Maybe they'll assemble again the roll hoops :cheezy:

Re: 2008 Car Launches & pictures
So will it be their own car or will they use an old Honda one again? For their sake I hope they are not going to use last year's Honda...
