No hope from force india this year they may be challeneging in 2009
Desire has no limits
Re: 2008 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
I hope the FIA ban those awful looking wheel caps for 2009. I know it´s not gonna happen, but I really hate them.
If Force India starts to challenge midfield teams, who will be on the back end then? Honda?, Williams?

They get a bigger budget in 2009.. I don't expect them to take points in a dry race this year, maybe next year thoughsyncmaster wrote:No hope from force india this year they may be challeneging in 2009

Personally, I think the back end teams will be williams and honda. Force india should become the best of the back, worst of the midfield i believe.blizzard wrote:I hope the FIA ban those awful looking wheel caps for 2009. I know it´s not gonna happen, but I really hate them.

I think next year, Toyota, Toro Rosso [given good drivers, because bourdais sucks and vettel is gone], BMW and Renault will be the midfield, with BMW at the front and toyota/renault close together.
Mclaren and Ferrari will be top obviously. I think with Alonso's input at BMW, they could be in no mans land, just fractions of the top but ahead of the midfield.
Re: 2008 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
Well Ferrai and Mclaren will stay ahead and ferrari will be trying its best to solve to solve its wet problems. Bmw might catch them or even beat them at some track. Renault will be like this years BMW if they can retain alonso with good winter testing. And toyota fighting eith renault. Red Bull should be ahead of Renault.Williams in the midfield with force india and honda a little bit better. And for the back I guess we may have a new team. But that is just a small rumor, which might be wrong.mikhailv wrote:Personally, I think the back end teams will be williams and honda. Looks like early 90´s F1, only a bit narrower. With Slicks and new front wing it should look good.

Re: 2008 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
This looks worse. I hope they do not have rear wings like this.
Re: 2008 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
Is this an F1 Car wing or they are testing a Karting rear wing !
it doesn't even look like a rear wing O.o
lol ...
Day 2 Jerez Test Results :
1 C. Klien BMW 01:19.537 84
2 S. Vettel Red Bull 01:19.878 60
3 S. Buemi Scuderia Toro Rosso 01:20.209 88
4 G. Paffett McLaren 01:20.602 52
5 K. Kobayashi Toyota 01:20.759 94

7 A. Wurz Honda 01:21.123 71
8 K. Nakajima Williams 01:23.171 61
PS : Day 1 was only tested by Marco Asmer (Estonian GP2 driver) @ BMW who topped the time sheets , followed by Clos in Williams and Conway who was testing the Kers and some stuff for next season ... so it was not that important test ..

Re: 2008 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
JB-F1 - The main changes mentioned in Gary Anderson's article
- Front wing lowered and extended, making the wing the same width as the car, and a driver adjustable section
- Bargeboards banned
- Winglets and assorted aero devices banned
- The top edge of the rear wing raised to become level with the top of the engine cover, reduced in width, and increased in section height, meaning more of a gap between the 2 wings, allowing more airflow
- Diffuser slightly longer and higher, and moved further back, making it less powerful
- Slick tyres instead of grooved slicks
- KERS can be used
The downforce levels will be such that it'll be like driving a current car without a front wing
If you people just want to whinge about the changes then quit whinging about the lack of overtaking

Re: 2008 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
That Williams with the high rear wing looks dreadful, looks a bit like the late 1960's cars with the giant rear wings. The aesthetics of F1 I thought couldn't get much worse than this year with all the aerodynamic parts on the cars, but they just have. Also how if their testing with grooved tyres does it mean Bridgestone haven't made the slicks for next year then? I'm not whinging about the new regulations,I can't wait to see overtaking return to F1.But the aesthetics have taken a knock, and although I can't see cars having the downforce levels you'd have without a front wing this year, because the cars designers iwll think of ways to get downforce back,I'm not sure I want aerodynamic grip to go down by that amount.
