Unemployed?? Not anymore
Unemployed?? Not anymore
Switzerland's lifting of a national ban on motor racing could affect many current formula one drivers' living arrangements in the country.
It is being reported that millionaire foreign Swiss residents, including Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa and Nick Heidfeld, may lose their low-tax status if the legalisation of motor racing in Switzerland is ratified by parliament's upper house in the coming weeks.
Presently, due to the prohibited status of motor sport in Switzerland, foreign racing drivers pay little or not tax because they can legitimately declare themselves 'unemployed', according to the German newspapers Express and Bild.
The drivers' Swiss tax relief was already in doubt, we reported earlier this year, after finance ministers met to discuss reforming the controversial system within six months.

i think all governments have problems with dealing with people who have money...
look at paris hilton she was released after three days in jail when she was supposed to be in there for over 20 days (or something, i don't know)
drivers should not earn that much money anyway...no one should...they should be paid according to the number of overtakes and the number of points in the championship (like dc was, in a way, in 2005 in rbr) not because they can sell products in ads or because they can attract sponsors
and to make everyone feel better here's a pic of schumi's ivory tower castle

I live in Switzerland and I think that finally they will pay taxes as everybody!
It was just a little error and I'm happy now they've to pay!
I mean, you think it's good to live in a country just because you don't have to pay taxes?! If you want this go to Monte Carlo... if you want to live in Switzerland pay! :P
