Absolutely Fed up with James Allen

I am sorry for starting this thread, but, that guy James Allen has just hit my last nerve!!

After watching last nights GP, which I must say, was one of the better races this year so far, I continually heard old James Allen carrying on about Lewis Hamilton like he was some sort of God.

After that irritating narration to what was a very good GP I checked all my fav F1 sites for opinions and other info after the race.

Now, I do regularly go to ITV-F1 for stories etc, but today, I read a column written by James Allen describing the GP - It didn't really go into anything other than what Hamilton did for 58 laps ..

He basically knocked every driver as if they didn't deserve to finish where they did, and, ironically, didn't even mention Alonso! (3rd) He even went into saying that Kimi, the fastest, highest paid driver in F1 - has concentration issues!!!

Here in New Zealand, the races don't start until midnight (sunday) and it is quite unbelievable that such a show that F1 is, they have this guy commentating so rudely about everyone other than Hamilton, it is turning into quite the pain in the a$$

I am just glad that I can come here to F1ZONE and read interesting opinions and gather unbiased info about F1 - from people who are not professional journalists

So thank you all

This year, I'm only watching the Speed channel for F1. James Allen is way too biased towards Hamilton. I don't care about what Lewis Hamilton ate for dinner last night, I want balanced coverage. Last year's Hungarian GP, I thought that since it was the only time that Button was leading and a British driver hadn't won in such a long time, it was OK. This year, it's a bore from James Allen...

Someone see the message and get rid of him!

well, that's life....how about trying to watch the race on other channels or sources, or if itv's the only available option, try the watch with the volume turned off ^cool^ $peace :T:@

i nearly didn't watch the turkey grand prix as me and my bro had a big fight and we had are tv's taken off us so i used " radio 5 live " as my coverage for the race and its was better commentry then itv.
the only annoying thing was there was no race build up or after race comments and that they kept on going back to listen to a running race ladies and mens final(something like that) and that happened 3 or 4 times but commentry was much more balanced with great talk for each driver- of course they were worried when hamilton had punture but not as much as itv(when i saw higlights on itv4) and when massa came across the finish line, james allan didn't seem bothered that he won but at least radio five live were so if im stuck in my room again, i will listen to the radio knowing i have got a good all round driver friendly commentry-of course i would rather watch the race on tv but not with james allen :)

I don't get ITV here so I do not know what it is like, but I bet last year he had the same behaviour for Jenson.

Nope the race build up would always feature Button, but James Allen was fairer on drivers before, a little Ferrari orientated at times and his screaming when Schumi won a million miles from the next driver were laughable...

James can be good, but he's just not professional half the time... He's either missing things, talking a load of c**p or screaming a load of c**p : ... Honestly 'And Hamiltons got away good'---Whilst being overtaken by Kimi : ...

I like the Speed Channel crew, David Hobbs is nicely old school,
Varsha is intelligent and insightful, and Machett offers great technical knowledge.
Peter Windsor has no shame, he'll ask any question.

the espn star sports f1 coverage on the other hand features a biased-for-ferrari announcer (steve slater) and a biased-for-mclaren announcer (chris goodwin) !grin!

your spot on me and my dad thought he was on a fit when he won in hungary. i would like a more balanced coverage although he is following up from murry walker and thats no easy task. overall he's not a bad commentator :T:@

What annoyed me the most was when he kept referring to Hamilton as "Lionheart Lewis" at Nurburgring for staying in the car and getting craned back on and for continueing to drive while being out of the points. FFS does this guy not realise the fact that all the other drivers have got as much heart, and how does he think the drivers in cars who are unlikely to score points feel? Does he think any driver thats not in a points paying position at the end of the first lap pulls into the pits and retires?

Maybe this guy should move onto commentating football or something cause he can't do F1 to a high enough standard. He commentates as well as the guys in pubs who don't know anything apart from what they read in the papers about Hamilton and then pretend to know everything.
