Well -July has passed and nothing yet.

So I agree, I'm beginning to doubt the will be any Prodrive in 2008 at all. :(

they got suported by Honda, they got the arrows chassis from 2002 (i guess) and just modifiedit to receive the 2006 Honda engine and to match regulation specs, and everything was made with the help of Honda...

So, if Prodrive also gets support from a factory team, who knows...

Yes, idea was that they would be McLaren customer team.

Ron Dennis has however given Prodrive a July deadline to sort everything out (funding, sponsorship etc) because McLaren is willing to provide the goods only, not the money.

Well - now it's August and nothing yet.... :(

Oh and about the drivers - I hardly think McLaren are willing to part from their excellent test driver Pedro de la Rosa. Gary Paffett would be a disaster, he's the slowest of all McLaren test drivers, inexperienced in race and doesn't even do especially well in DTM this year.

Alex Wurz however would be a good start. He has McLaren experience and is a reliable race driver too. Together with a rookie maybe - why not Bruno Senna?

Prodrive will be ready, they paid a lot of money for the new team deposit thingy, it would be stupid to waste all of that by not preparing well

With Prodrive's purchase of Aston Martin, they
may be rethinking their approach. The Aston Martin
name would bring better sponsors.

All I kno is that they had to launch the team at Silverstone, but didn't because of the spystory.

Now I realise that the spystore was just an excuse, as we haven't heard anything more from them yet.

that could be a possibility if they have there own reputation to protect, i suppose we just have to wait Prodrive or RD to show the green light before we get to know any more details, i will post any i find any links.

Prodrive's F1 plans 'progressing well'

Prodrive's plans to enter Formula One are progressing well, autosport.com has learned, despite an expected announcement about their car and sponsor plans having not been forthcoming yet.

The team's boss David Richards said earlier this year that he hoped to announce his plans for 2008 in the summer, and at the British Grand Prix in July he suggested matters could be confirmed within a matter of weeks.

McLaren also set a July deadline if they were to link up with the Banbury-based operation for a car and chassis supply deal.

Despite the lack of an official announcement, it is understood that work is still ongoing behind the scenes to finalise sponsorship, car and driver plans.

A source has made it clear, however, that the team will only go public with their plans when they are ready.

"Plans for our F1 programme are still progressing well," said the source. "We have never set ourselves a deadline, July or otherwise, and we will make an announcement when
