I don't think he should have been punished.

Alonso had no control in the pit lane. It was the call of his race engineer so the punishment was wrong.

what's the other option to alonso?
Go to track with 4 cars more and try to get pole overtaken this 4 cars?, thats stupid!!!!
And Alonso pass "start" line 0.6 second before end. Anyone think if Alonso can go out pit 1 second before, he didn't do it?
And another issue. Both drivers did 17 laps ( and think Hamilton loose his final lap, so they want to do 18). But was Fernando who can do one more lap that Hamilton on this track. On the race, remember Hamilton go to pit one lap later Alonso. THIS IS THE REAL ISSUE!!!!!. Hamilton did what they want, this cause Alonso have to improvise, and he had to be on pit lane more time. Second stop was long, but first of them was really more long.
Hamilton knew that Alonso can get pole, and if he didn't it, Alonso will be second and have one more lap, so Hamilton will be overtaken on pit. HAMILTON KNEW HE ONLY CAN BE SECOND, HE CAN NOT BEAT ALONSO ON THE RACE!!! So let's do trickery
Edited:sorry yesterday I can not edit by a php server problem, and I say "HE CAN BEAT ALONSO ON THE RACE"

hmm...

I was listening to the BBC reporters and they stated that the team mechanics were not too happy about Hamilton winning due to what he did in Q3. Hamilton has gone from Rookie, to Master, to Villan before the season has even ended. It took Michael at least 3 seasons before he had people hating him, but he always had his team on side.

Dont talk nonsense please, Alonso knew exactly what he was doing and the lollipop had been raised. The FIA spent 8 hours deliberating on this and got it right. All the excuses were feeble.
Strategies are flexible and are changed to gain even a tenth in a pitstop, they wasted 11 seconds. Enough said.

FIA spent 8 hours and forget to write which rule Alonso broke.

Hi there,
the real question is "Why FIA punishes Alonso and the team ?"
If Alonso made a mistake, McLaren is out of scope.
If it was the Team, Alonso is not guilty.
For me it was a McLaren's internal problem and the FIA should not interfere.

FIA comunicate show the rule McLaren was broken, but FIA comunicate about alonso, didn't say any rule. So I think FIA may punish McLaren not Alonso.
But even that, you can think if McLaren took advantage of Alonso, or McLaren cause harm to Hamilton. I thinks that Hamilton broke q3 timetable, so McLaren had to adjust Alonso times on track. Then I thinks McLaren treated to give Alonso a good final lap, and this cause a problem to Hamilton, who was the guilty of all problems.
Conclusion, I thinks Alonso had not to be punished, and McLaren only tried to solve problems causes by one of theirs drivers, so they had not to be punished too. But McLaren (not FIA), have to punish Hamilton, because he did what they want.

I Agree but even McLaren's punishment is not quite clear.
I think McLaren is in line of sight of the FIA and every little think they can find will bring a punishment. The last two years, it was Michelin and Renault (mass dumpers forbiden for aerodynamic reason :@:2 ).
The FIA has found its new Dark Lord :

The reason Alonso was punished was that he remained static for ten seconds after the lolipop was raised. The lolipop was raised when the countdown was finished.
It's clear Lewis was faster than expected in q3 and Alonso had to do something to stop him getting pole so he blocked him. If Alonso was innocent he would have behaved as he did in Monaco but even though he blames Lewis for starting it, he too is as guilty as sin and he looks it.
