Move Fisichella to McLaren and Alonso back to Renault! I can see Fisichella being a good #2 with Hamilton because he's just not up to snuff in leading a team...

I think, should Alonso leave McLaren, the drivers for next year will be as fllows

Alonso goes to Renault instead of Fisi
Fisi goes to Williams instead of Rosberg
Rosberg takes nando's place

Although, Renault have already Heikki and Nelson under contract.

I love that suggestion !grin!...

1.Massa isn't going to move, his manager is Todts son so he's in there for the long run one thinks...
2.Renault would get rid of anyone to get Alonso back so him going back to Renault isn't that hard to believe...
3.It is a very strong rumour that Alonso has asked to go back to Renault BUT only if Fisi is staying... I don't think he wants another rookie next to him !grin! specially Nelson...
4.Rosberg has said he wants to stay with Williams in the long run, and Williams has said he ain't moving...

Though as I said I'd love Fisi to go to Williams !grin! though I'd like him next to Rosberg because it gives me a reason to support him...

I like your reasoning about Alonso. He's already found a driver who kicks ass this year, and he put him under great pressure. Should Piquet be as consistent as Hamilton, he might be in an embarrasing situation once again, however, I'm sure that Alonso would clearly be the 1st driver at renault.

I would love to see renault lend Piquet to Williams, instead of Wurz, at least for a year. :D

Hmm, yeah if Alonso leaves macca at the end of this year, which I think he should, I really realistically dont see hamilton doing as well as he has this year sofar.

My reasoning behind this is that Alonso sets a precedent - with all of the telemetry available he [ham] would know exactly where to push and where he needs to improve - it is the old story of you only being as good as you're closest competitor. ie. look how much massa improved having schumy next to him last year.

British tabloid newspaper, The News of the World has this morning (Sunday 23 September) reported that Fernando Alonso has agreed a £20 million-a-year deal to join Ferrari for 2008!!! He will replace Felipe Massa as teammate to Kimi Raikkonen. The report also states that RON Dennis will be looking to replace Fernando with Nico Rosberg, although Jenson Bottom is also in the frame for the 2nd McLaren seat

Ferrari is the last place that Alonso will go to. Due to an incident in the past when Fernando had agreed to join Ferrari, by word of mouth, and then moved to Renault instead, I think that Alonso is not welcomed at Ferrari.

As long as Todt is team boss at Ferrari Alonso wont go there.

Todt and Alonso agreed on a contract, but then Renault came, and then Nando signed there ''hmm'' , not so fair to agree a Ferrari-deal and then letting Ferrari down by joining Renault

Yes there were some "contract issues" between Alonso and Ferrari that has lead to a (rather childish, IMO) Todt anti-Alonso position ever since.

But this was back in 2001-2002, and how would you have done? Signed a Ferrari contract making you default #2 to Michael Schumacher for eons to come or a Renault contract that at least would give you a fair shot? ''hmm''

It doesn't say much for Ron's man management if he loses the two best drivers in F1 in consecutive seasons Kimi then Alonso.
