Re: Ferrari Takes Nigel Stopney to Court
Well I don't doubt that something might have gone on, but a lot of it is based on him 'disappearing' on holiday when he says it was a planned holiday ...

Ferrari stalwart Nigel Stepney has denied any wrongdoing after the Italian squad launched court proceedings against him.
The Scuderia confirmed earlier this week that it had filed a formal complaint against the long-serving Englishman and Stepney is now under investigation by the public prosecution office in Modena, the nearest major town to Ferrari’s factory in Maranello – although exact details of the investigation have not been revealed.
Stepney told the Sunday Times newspaper over the weekend that he had done nothing wrong.
“I have confidence I’ll be cleared by the legal process that is now taking place,” he told the newspaper.
“It is just part of a dirty tricks campaign and everything is in the hands of my lawyer, so we’ll wait and see what happens.”
He is currently holidaying in the Philippines with his family and insists that any notion that he had not been contactable is wide of the mark.
“I’m on a planned holiday with Ash (his fiancée) and our baby,” he said.
“Why would anyone say I am not contactable?
“I booked the flights through the Ferrari travel office.
“They know where I am.”

This looks very fishy.
I do not think that he did any dirty play on them. It's more like Ferrari never admit that they have something wrong with the car.

He has been with the squad since '92,
the white powder would have been put in the refuel systems before the cars had been carried in monaco...

some new news from ITV-F1

Nigel Stepney, the Ferrari engineer at the centre of a legal investigation in Italy, has been dismissed by the team, according to reports in the Italian press.
Ferrari confirmed to ITV Sport at the French Grand Prix that it was carrying out its own inquiry into Stepney's conduct in parallel with the police investigation.
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport now reports that Ferrari's investigation is complete and the squad has formally ended Stepney's contract.
Stepney is currently on holiday in the Philippines, but is expected to return later this week.
He has maintained his innocence throughout the affair and is expected to give a press conference when he returns.
According to Gazzetta, Stepney's lawyer Sonia Bartolini was not surprised by Ferrari's decision, but says the British engineer will be able to prove that he has done nothing wrong.
Although few details have been released about the nature of the investigation, Ferrari spokesman Luca Colajanni told ITV Sport that it related to irregularities discovered at the Ferrari factory prior to the Monaco Grand Prix.

i'm going to sound a bit paranoid here, but Schumacher is gone and somehow everything seems to fall apart.
