Re: Espionage at Ferrari and McLaren
It just never seems to end. Apparently McLaren might have used some of the Ferrari information in their 2008 car's development:

The full letter with McLaren's view:

We'll see how this one is going to end, but the 2007 season and spy saga still go on...

Re: Espionage at Ferrari and McLaren
McLaren's apologies have come a little too late and they are a complete insult to anyone watching the sport. Hey, but atleast they had some flicker of decency to admit they acted wrongly in this.
So after all the lying, misleading and hypocrisy they showed in this issue, they just expect to apologise and get away with it? Well guess what, they can't because their image is seriously tainted right now. I am so disappointed with this team that I can't even tell you (and I once was a big supporter)
One thing seems to be good in all of this: it seems that the '07 season will finally be over as the FIA are considering to cancel the Feb. '08 hearing as a result of McLaren's apology.

So here's to a great '08 seson :T:@

"Is the Ferrari wheelbase an accurate figure? Did it come from photos or our mole?"

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was also when I read that.
And the response was:"You will find it's to the nearest 'mm'"
Anyway, for those who haven't discovered it, here's the full report of the FIA Technical department to the WMSC. It's quite an interesting read:

Re: Espionage at Ferrari and McLaren
Oh dear God, more things come to light

Can anyone still claim that McLaren are innocent in all this?

Re: Espionage at Ferrari and McLaren
The FIA has responded to that saying president Max Mosley has asked the WMSC for permission to cancel February's meeting and consider the matter closed.
"In the light of McLaren's public apology and undertakings, the FIA President has asked the members of the World Motor Sport Council for their consent to cancel the hearing scheduled for 14 February 2008 and, in the interests of the sport, to consider this matter closed," said the FIA in a statement.
NEGATIVE!!!
All i can say for now is Mclaren isn't innocent as it looks from outside
I wish FIA/WMSC to pass judgment that will demoralize such acts & events.

Re: Espionage at Ferrari and McLaren
not being biased for being a mclaren fan....but i think that's most appropriate, the real one that must be punished is one nigel stepney, he dragged along coughlan into this and of course, it's only logical that coughlan would use the data in one form or another

Don't worry, there are some hard times ahead of that certain Mr. Stepney with the criminal trial in Italy. So he's not off the hook just yet.
Re: Espionage at Ferrari and McLaren
Ferrari still fuming over spy case
Quoted by Corriere dello Sport, Todt said: "At the hearing McLaren came with 200 signatures of managers saying they never had access to the information.
"Then, three months later, when the FIA did its verifications, it was demonstrated that was completely false. They went corrupting their own personnel to make them sign false documentation.
Reacting to questions about the McLaren guarantees not to develop parts that could have come from Ferrari intellectual property, di Montezemolo said: "Yes, I'm convinced that at least the colours will be different. I don't expect a red McLaren. It's better if we talk about something else."
And di Montezemolo hit out at the fact McLaren won Racing Car of the Year, and Lewis Hamilton International Driver of the Year at the recent Autosport Awards.
"The English never miss a chance to demonstrate their lack of sportsmanship," he said. "The best car is the one that wins, and that's the Ferrari."
