The first race I can remember I watched was the last race of 94 when schumi became WDC the first time in a weird way.

My first experience of watching f1 was A monaco race from either 96, 97 or 98. I don't remember it being wet so it must have been the latter

I think it was '99 Canada. Häkkinen won there.

I don't think it was the first, but at least is the first I can remember well: The last race of 1997, when Schumacher crashed into Villeneuve and Jaques won the Championship. And it was the first victory of Hakkinen too.
I know I was watched more races that season, but I don't have them in mind.

First race I remember watching was the 2002 Australian GP when Ralf Schumacher flew off the back of Barichello and there was a 8-car pileup at the back. Hooked ever since.

I have distant memories from 1992 (I was 7), when Mansell was all over the gearbox of Senna at Monaco. I must've seen some races even before but they didn't make such a lasting impression.

I've grown up watching Formula One since I was born, but the first race I remember clearly was the 2000 German GP when someone ran onto the circuit and Rubens won because of the half wet half dry circuit.

My first one was the British GP in 1999, where Michael Schumacher crashed at Stowe Corner and broke his leg. I started to watch every race when I watched the 2001 Belgium GP. With a big crash as well. Burti and Irvine crashed at Blanchimont. From then on, I watched every race.

First Grand Prix You Watched

BANANAGP wrote:Probably not the first but definitely the first I remember...

1984 Monaco Grand Prix when Senna was passing everyone and closing in on Prost (in the Renault?) before Wacky Jacky Ickx pulled out the red flag and ended the race half way through.

I remember my dad going nuts during the race while Senna was making some amazing passes in the rain and getting really mad after the race was red flagged...

I clearly remember asking him: "Quem e' Ayrton Senna?", and after a long explaination involing words like "Fittipaldi", "Piquet", "Monaco", "Spa-Francochamps", "Jacarepagua", "Brabham BMW", "Lotus", "turbo" e "Prost e' um Vagabundo" etc... beginning a love for F1 which lasts to this day.

:cheesy:
I love that I think I was calling prost the English equivillant of "vagabundo" watching that race too :O
My first driver I really liked to watch was Emerson Fittipaldi I remember cheering him to finish the GP at Zandfort in Holland as he was perilesly close to running out of fuel. It just sticks in the mind as does Nicky Lauder's horrible crash in germany, his amazing determination to make it back racing in only 6 weeks and his incredible bravery in deciding to pull off the track in a rain soaked Japan saying "it was not worth losing your life over a world championship" (or something like that) he handed the chamopionsip over to James Hunt in doing that. How honest and brave in doing that as he would have had to face the wrath of Ferrari and the press.
