Look And Read... Stewards at the Hungarian grand prix on Saturday afternoon were investigating why Lewis Hamilton ran out of time to defend his provisional pole position.

Anticipating the development, it is understood that McLaren boss Ron Dennis personally escorted Fernando Alonso's physiotherapist Fabrizio Borra to FIA officials here in Budapest.

It is believed that Borra, despite the fact that the lollipop was raised and mechanics were ushering the Spaniard's car out of the pit box, gave Alonso a signal when enough time had elapsed so as to cause team-mate Hamilton to run out of time to complete his out lap in the dying minutes of qualifying.


Despite the McLaren one-two on Saturday, Dennis and Hamilton's father Anthony were a picture of fury after the incident, while championship leader Hamilton said: "It definitely needs a good explanation.

"I will definitely ask the team when I go back and have the debrief.

"Your guess is as good as mine," the Briton told reporters. "I'm not angry, I'm curious as to what's gone on."

Alonso should be punished as he had no right! But we will see tommorrow....

Interesting qualification today Ferrari forgot that car need fuel !grin! Alonso put something like Michael Schumacher in Monaco 2006.I think he doesn't mind what happens to him after that manouver he want to distract Hamilton.Alonso could go in next year to another team because he is unhappy at McLaren.

Well thats now 2 different stories! Alonso saying we had to wait for the Ferrari, and Dennis saying Hamilton Went out first when he wasn't supposed to and didn't slow down. So then why did Dennis let him out! Surely they could of waited until Alonso's car was up to temp, and then sent out Hamilton, They where 1-2 in the pit lane anyway (i think, correct me if im wrong!) And Dennis doesn't say he contacted Hamilton over the radio, in that case, Was it Hamiltons fault that he didn't know, or Forgot from a meeting that morning?!?

"In this situation, we are timed to when we can dispatch the car based on when the car reaches a given temperature, and then we know how long we can hold it at the pitlane.

"The cars are dispatched as soon as possible. In this instance, Lewis's car got up to that temperature first, so we sent Lewis, then we sent Fernando, and the fuel burn characteristics [mean that] there is a small advantage which we play from driver to driver according to the nature of the circuit.

I'm probably the only person that cheered Alonso on when he sat in his car !grin! I loved it...

Poor little Fisico I don't know whats gonna happen to him, bloody traffic always gives me a headache, but seeing Yamamoto needed hell of a lot to get up to Sutils time Fisico shouldn't get that big a punishment...

it was neither alonso nor mclarens fault..it was hamilton he was told to let the spaniard overtake him but he didn't obey..alonso did obey..also the lollypop man made a mistake..alonso was hearing in team radio when to left pits...Alonso set for another win...

For me it's absolutely impossible to understand that anybody believes Alonso stayed extra in the pits on purpose.

First of all, how would he know? He doesn't have a clock counting down 15 minutes in his car. Do you honestly believe he had a calculator in his car figuring out the exact amount of seconds needed to corrupt Hamilton's lap whilst being sure to get his OWN lap in in time? Time was short - that much he knew. No more.

Then there's the matter of safety. How could he be sure that the pit lane was clear when he went out if he didn't do it when he was told to? Another car holding him up (perhaps even touching) with seconds as vital as they were here?

Last, there's the matter of trust and morale. Play dirty and you get played dirty with. And for a lousy pole position? Not very likely.

If anyone failed in the fair play respect it was Hamilton. Now I wouldn't go as far as to say he played dirty, but his rather childish behaviour in not obeying the team sure destroyed both Alonso's and his own qualy strategy.

lewis got wat he deserved, he was suppose to let fernando lead in the fuel burning phase but he stormed off. he created is own mess. i loved wat alonso did, i hope he did it on purpose. im not a mclaren fan so im not biased towards any driver, i just thought wat happened was great, alonso's got some guts!!!
