Overall Speed/Pace: dry – 75-80*, wet – 65-70
Aggression: dry – 65, wet – 60
Use of Tyres: dry – under 40, wet – under 25
Mechanical Sympathy: 50
Pit Stop Speed vs Mistakes: ~70 for both
Race Start: 60
* Use 75 for Sebring and Le Mans
Tyres:
Michelin:
Soft: ok, Hard: ok, Inters & Wets: ok
- tyres last long
Goodyear:
Soft: ok, Hard: the best, Inters & Wets: the best
- tyres last long
Yokohama:
Soft: the best, Hard: ok, Inters & Wets: verry good, 2nd after Goodyear
- they don’t last as long as Michelins and Goodyears
Pirrelli, Kumho, Dunlop: rubbish
* I like Goodyear best!
Race strategy:
Sebring: 10*
Mid Ohio: 2
Lime Rock Park: 3
Sears Point: 2
Portland: 3*
Mosport: 3
Road America: 3
Laguna Seca: 2
Road Atlanta 10hr: 9
Adelaide: 5
Istanbul: 4
Monza: 5
Spa-Francorchamps: 4
Nurburgring: 5
Silverstone: 5
Le Mans: 14
* those are the numbers of stops per race. Never do stints longer then 42 laps!!!
* the racetracks marked with red have a lot of tyre wear! For those races tyre wear must be under 30 (even with hard tyres)!!!
Other stuff:
Dry: I like to use hard tyres for every race!
* At Spa and Le Mans you can use softs if you like, but with hard tyres you have more consistent lap times!!
Greasy and Moist: start on softs!
Change the driver at every stop! You won’t lose time, as refueling takes longer then the driver change!
Cars:
Here is the order of cars based on their performance (starting with the best)
LMP1: Bentley, Audi, Pescarolo, Dallara, Zytek, Lister, Panoz
LMP2: Courage, Lola MG, Zytek, Pilbeam, WR
GTS: Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Corvette, Viper
GT: Porsche, Ferrari, BMW 2004, BMW 2003, TVR
* You can win races and driver titles in every car, but the cars marked in green are by far the best in their class!
* For some cars you have more then 1 choice of engines (Pescarolo, Dallara, Zytek, Lister, Courage, Lola MG, Pilbeam, WR). Always chose the Judd engines as they are powerfull and reliable
F1 Guide
F1 2006, 2007 and 2008
Always do 2 stops and use hard tyres. The first stop should be the longest, the 2nd one a bit shorter and the 2rd one should be the shortest. For example, id your race has 60 laps, you stops on lap 24 and 42. Hard tyres last much longer then soft tyres! With a light car and hard tyres you are verry fast.
Overall Speed/Pace: dry – 80-85*, wet – 70-75
Aggression: dry – 65, wet – 60
Use of Tyres: dry – 100**, wet – under 50
Mechanical Sympathy: 50-60***
Pit Stop Speed vs Mistakes: ~70 for both
Race Start: 60
* for F1 02 pace should be not more then 80
** if you are on hard tyres, 50 for softs
*** for F1 02 max. 50
For F1 08 you should use Wisdom as you can do all your quali laps at 100% without problems, losing time, crashing or having traffic problems! That helps a lot!
F1 1986
No stops! No matter what race! Always use hard tyres (or dry enduros if you have Pirelli tyres ) in the race! Tyre wear below 30!!!
Use the qualy tyres only for quali as they last only 1-2 laps
Overall Speed/Pace: dry – 75-80*, wet – 65-70
Aggression: dry – 65, wet – 60
Use of Tyres: dry – under 30, wet – under 15
Mechanical Sympathy: under 50
Pit Stop Speed vs Mistakes: ~70 for both
Race Start: 60

Re: Batracer Guide
Well I am playing F1 08 at the moment and I just would like to comment on that. Having the first stint longer will not enable you to get the best performance. It depends on the situation. Also, about tyres, as I was new to batracer iceman1 once told me to go for hard tyres, but if you really want to go for it and you have enough tyres and quali position, then go for a 3 stopper with hard-soft-soft-soft.
Re: Batracer Guide
changing Tyres during the Race is not the best Idea , For F1 2008 always use Hard tyres (except spa) . softs For quali
Re: Batracer Guide
if soft tyres last for half the race distance then you will be better trying that off.Like in Silverstone which is a 60 laps race and softs last for half the race distance. so you can easily do a two stop strategy and use all softs.iceman1 wrote:changing Tyres during the Race is not the best Idea , For F1 2008 always use Hard tyres (except spa) . softs For quali
Soft tyres are way too fast than hards if the tyre wear is upto half (orange). So it we worth trying that out.
Re: Batracer Guide
softs Tyres are better than hard tyres in the first 5 Laps only . I am using softs when the weather is Moist, drizzle
Re: Batracer Guide
well iceman1 I am using your guide for the next lemans season. I hope I will get a good result.

Re: Batracer Guide
are all a1gp cars exactly the same for setup or does each team have a different setup?
Re: Batracer Guide
What about a Champcar guide? Which tyres are better? Firestone or Goodyear? and which compound should be used on which type of track? (oval, road, street).
Re: Batracer Guide
Firestone .
Always have a 3 car team, this means there is no need for the thinker skill
Speed Demon is your friend
Set it to 90 when you only have 1 qualifying run on ovals
Use Medium tyres for nearly all the races and 2-3 pitstops
Race pace and agression are good at 85/65
