Hi

Post by morty13577 » 10 Feb 2009, 03:37

Hi all,
I'm 32 and have lived in Adelaide, Australia all my life.
I have been following F1 since my dad took me to the 1985 Australian Grand Prix (In Adelaide).
My favourite driver was Ayrton Senna. Admittedly though at 8 years of age i had little idea of how good he was, and it was simply the lotus paint scheme and his helmet colours that made me follow him initially. A few of years later 1988, was when i started to take more notice that he was a great driver, as i watched the majority of races with my father, staying up late on a sunday night (most races in europe were televised about 11pm). This resulted in some good arguments with my dad as he was a Nigel Mansell fan.
Later on i even had my dad paint my bedroom in a similar colour yellow to that on Senna's helmet. I had wanted the green and blue stripes also, but that did not happen. :)
I only missed going to two of the Adelaide races, one i went to the saturday qualifying but not the race and the other i was working in a drinks stall at the Gp and did not get to watch the race.
I did lose some interest in F1 after senna's death and also in the mid to late 90's as i began going to nightclubs and the like. But since the turn of the century i began following it more closely again and hope that the championship will stay as strong as it has over the past couple of years.
Now if only Mark Webber can get some consistency and have some decent results.

G'day mate!
Seemingly, you have watched the best years of F1. Congratulations.
In my opinion, seasons 2000-2006 were pure c**p.
