Re: 2013 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix
Interesting stat, Vettel and Alonso finishing 1-2 three races in a row is only the fifth time in history this has happened to two drivers, and it's the first time it's happened to non-teammates. Previous times it's happened were Senna and Prost, Mansell and Patrese, Hakkinen and Coulthard, Schumacher and Barrichello.
Re: 2013 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix
Talking about the stats, Kimi has gone 60 Grand Prix without a pole position. It's so strange to see him outside the front row. He was mega in 2005
BTW, I miss the old qualifying format

Re: 2013 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix
Saw the CCTV. Dont see an issue. Its absolutly the same as when a car is crawling after winning and cars jinking around. Many cars even go off track closer to the crowds to wave then come back on and cars have to take avoiding action to that.
Absolutely ludicrious. Now the FIA are effectively banning it. What a joke this sport is.

Lets be honest, He wouldn't have got a pole in 2010 or 2011. He hasn't had a car capable of pole since 2008.iceman1 wrote:Talking about the stats, Kimi has gone 60 Grand Prix without a pole position. It's so strange to see him outside the front row. He was mega in 2005

Read this & calm down - it's not about what they did, but the manner in which they did it

Re: 2013 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix
Ive read it and i've watched the CCTV. If Alonso's car was on fire and Webber ran to help him out, would that be punished because he was on track without Marshalls permission?
I saw nothing wrong. If your allowed to force cars off track at racing speed and claim it as an overtake, if your allowed to go on the run offs at a snail pace then jink back on to the racing line forcing cars to take avoiding action in post-race celebrations, then there should be no issue, especially as Webber was at and almost on the car before the two mercs got to Alonso. There was also plenty of room and plenty of time for either Merc to go around. If Alonso broke down there say, what then?
Thats my point, theyve come out with a rubbish excuse which previous actions have had the same results.

Re: 2013 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix
It's completely different.
Webber ignored the marshals, who volunteer their time to keep drivers safe.
Racing penalties are always sketchy, especially in a sport where you're judged by the clock. This isn't ice skating, where it's down to the discretion of opinion - but, stewarding is down to people that have to implement the rules.
I think a reprimand for both drivers was adequate punishment.

Still dont see the point to be honest. If it was so unsafe why is Webber still alive? There was a time when people were on track wearing open face helmets, goggles, bit of plastic netting and haybales as barriers at 150mph. Some bloke walks to another car and climbs on after the race where all cars are at such low speeds to nurse back to the pits, and Webbers gone and murdered 17 children.

Re: 2013 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix
Hi
A question:
The classification rules of FIA says you have to complete at least 90% of the race distance to get a official classification.
Paul di Resta drove 54 of 61 laps (88,5%) in Singapore but is still classified as no. 20.
Can anyone explain me why??
Thanks,
Tom
