And the HRT was backing off cos he was under blue flag conditions so it's not a racing overtake.

So you can overtake one meter before and after a yellow falg display!!!. Nice, I didn't knowphil1993 wrote:The overtake was before the yellow flags

Stop being bitter. Alonso accepted defeat with dignity, so should his fans.
We all know how brilliant Alonso has been anyway.

Re: Grande Prêmio Petrobras do Brasil 2012
did FIA made it official? any links to that?Treacle wrote:Yeah, I know, FIA also made it official that Vettel's move was legal.
There was a flashing yellow light as well, but there was a green after that. I was just not paying enough attention to the footage, I was just listening to the guy...
My bad, sorry!

This is the video that claims Seb passed under yellow....
Never say never, never say die for Alonso fans eh?
My conclusion....this video was rigged. It's edited and a fake

Great race review. "During the final stint, Kimi Raikkonen capped a successful comeback by getting lost. Raikkonen ran wide at Juncao and elected to rejoin via the old circuit, only to find the gate was closed and that he had to turn his car around and rejoin via the grass. On this occasion, he didn’t really know what to do." True .

There are two very obvious reasons why there is no penalty there.megasyxx wrote:This is the video that claims Seb passed under yellow....

One is that the yellow flag zone does not start until you get to the light and he's clearly passed before then and secondly he's not overtaking in a race situation for position. The HRT is slowing and going off line to let the leader through. That's why there is no charge to answer.
Re: Grande Prêmio Petrobras do Brasil 2012
Are you sure about that? I've been watching F1 for 15 years and always thought that you can't overtake under yellows, no matter if it's for position or while lapping backmarkers.Kevin Clark wrote: secondly he's not overtaking in a race situation for position. Yes. It would be regarded as a pass even if it's not for position.antyk wrote:Are you sure about that? Edit: ...but what happened didn't happen under yellow flags.

Re: Grande Prêmio Petrobras do Brasil 2012
I hate it when people start crying for absurd penalties just because their favourite hasn't won. It was a fair sporting contest in Brazil and Vettel is the champion. End of story.
Re: Grande Prêmio Petrobras do Brasil 2012
I honestly have no problem with Vettel winning the the title. I've said before that Ferrari's dirty games won't get them anywhere, and accordingly, Vettel is a worthy winner.
