Brundle says Schumacher's puncture was picked up from a drain whilst being pushed in the pitlane.

Also says he apparently shouldn't have had a DTP. Should have had a fine as it was before the race.

The second formation lap counted as a racing lap.

Hmmm maybe, although it didn't count as lap 1 of 70. The race was reduced to 69 laps and started when the lights went out after they lined up the second time. Seems a bit of a grey area. Maybe we'll get another 'clarification'. :p

Anyone have any video or photos of Schumacher out of position? There must have been a gap on the grid somewhere and everyone from Schumacher onwards a row back but I didn't see it on the TV. Was strange how long it took for it to come to light. You'd have thought someone would have seen and reported it. An empty grid-slot should be pretty obvious for a camera to pick up and director to switch to.

Poor race this time. Back to business as usual for the Hungaroring, I guess.

Still, it's cool to see someone other than Alonso win this time. It's a shame his closest title rivals couldn't capitalize, though. I wouldn't have minded a Lotus win either, but they didn't have big enough an advantage over Lewis to overtake, neither on track nor through pit strategy. P2 and P3 is still a great result, and they're right back in the fight for second in the WCC. Not to mention Kimi's long-awaited victory in Spa (if it does come true) could put him right up there with the title contenders, and that would be all kinds of awesome.

In a nutshell: Hungaroring still sucks but 2012 still rocks. :)

As an interesting aside, that's the third time Hamilton & Raikkonen have finished 1-2 in Hungary.

anyone else think Maldanado's penalty was ridiculous?

Di resta left the door wide open, infact he took the door off the hinge it was that open. Maldanado got a tiny slide and there was hardly any contact, di resta jerked left AFTER contact was made. He wasnt pushed, he jerked. If you watch the video, contact is made then di rest over-reacts massively left;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbUdkMyxLXI

Now, if maldanado was getting a penalty for 'shoving' someone off the road, is it worse than this which wasnt penalised;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yC05YfPIBVc

Now, if were saying contact is the reason for being penalised, why werent these penalised for example;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGjOnGov3E8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHsyDzMGhbo

THIS, wasnt even penalised and rightfully so;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cz3EKUgVgsw

Theres no sense in the penalty. On a track where overtaking is hard, the track is narrow with lots of run off, a genuine good move down the inside on invisibleresta with a small slide, which happens, deserves a penalty? No chance. We already had a boring procession where you couldnt overtake unless your seconds quicker than the car infront or through the pits, so one of the only genuine moves gets penalise, when contact was minute and di resta jerked away.

Utter ridiculous penalty.
