2012 Santander British Grand Prix

Post by phil1993 » 26 Jun 2012, 11:06

Round 9 of the 2012 FIA Formula One World Championship

Image

Past winners:
2011 - F. Alonso (Ferrari)
2010 - M. Webber (Red Bull)
--
2009 - S. Vettel (Red Bull) *Old Track
2008 - L. Hamilton (McLaren) *Old Track
2007 - K. Raikkonen (Ferrari) *Old Track

Although Britain is going through a little bit of ACTUAL summer weather, it will probably be cold and wet.

Not expecting tyres to be as crucial as previous events.

So, can Britain have a home winner for the first time since 2008? Will the nature of the circuit help Williams & Sauber? And finally, will Timo Glock be able to go 5 minutes without dashing to the nearest 'comfort facility'?

Will update opening post with news & info as and when it comes. Expect the DRS to be on the Wellington Straight.

You going Phil?

Really not sure who I'll think will win this one. We've had some great races this season, but a wet one would be nice. :p

After tonight's match I see a drama inside Scuderia Ferrari. Who will win the EURO 2012?
Fernando Alonso's country or Fernando Alonso's car's country?
If the furias rojas win will the Italians sabotage Alonso's car??????

As Alonso himself said, there may not be many mechanics to service his car at the next pit stop if Spain wins! :zz:

Latest Silverstone news added to the site, including why Mercedes drivers are optimistic but cautious, Kovalainen enthusiastic and information on a driver taking part in FP1.

I understand why you don't mention the name of the driver taking part in FP1, if people knew which team it referred to they wouldn't be interested and wouldn't go to the site to check it out. :p

It's called media :p

Early forecasts point towards a mostly sunny weekend, highs of 19c. Sounds utterly perfect for me :p No rain please!

Hope it pisses it down for the race and for the campers. :p At Spa it was fun bidding farewell to the people I met at the circuit on Saturday as they returned to their soggy tents and crappy portable showers whilst I returned to a warm hotel and an evening in the bar.

It wasn't too much actually, but it was quite a way from the circuit. I had to dip into my savings. I'm sure when my parents put that money away when I was younger it was with the attention of me going to Spa. :p
