Ferrari were actually too aggressive with their design and effectively produced an untamed beast. They didn't know how the car behaved, and they couldn't understand why it yielded the results it did.

Anyway, McLaren are to switch to the 'platypus' nose in Barcelona:

Quite honestly, it's hard to figure out McLaren. First, as the only team they don't send their race drivers to Mugello then they test a significantly changed part of their car just for a few laps, only to announce that they're running the high nose in Barcelona.

They only ran it for 2 laps ''hmm'' but maybe they have enough data about it.

RE: the DRS/overtakingarticle
Quoted from the article:
Has the overall amount of overtaking increased in 2012?
It is hard to say at this early stage. In 2011, the average number of normal and DRS overtakes per race was 43. So far, there have been on average 54 moves per race in 2012 – a clear increase on 2011. However, by way of direct comparison, the first four races of 2011 saw an average of 55 moves.

This is an example of why statistics mean nothing from season to season and often from race to race.

McLaren's high nose leaves more space for air flow under the nose than the old one did. Interesting to see how well it works in the race.

The forecasters are becoming increasingly confident that it will rain on Sunday, but the crucial question is whether it will fall in time for the race start at 2pm local time. Increased cloud cover will reduce temperatures into the low 20C region
Could you imagine if Alonso won? :hatoff:

Seems Ferrari have brought both versions of the exhaust tested at Mugello to Barcelona.

Question to Schumi in Merc briefing: "Nico has been criticised for his moves in the last race. Did he learn them from you?"

Lol how did he reply?

The Thursday Press Conference is up on Sky. 23:20 Vettel does an impression of Alonso, 'you have to leave a space. All the time you have to leave a space.' Alonso replies 'as I did in Monza last year.' :p

now begin Europe tracks, always there are changes when F1 come back to Europe.

But as always, Montmelo is a bored track, so if not rain we will see only a few overtakes. Weather, in spain we have a african mass air, yesterday (wednesday) and today we have 10ºC more than a week ago. Maybe some chances of rain for sunday, but if not, hot, very hot. Here south-east of spain, we have about 35ºC, and 14% humidity.

Today near circuit "only" 27.7ºC:
