What is 10 points of downforce?

Code: Select all

Whitmarsh: "Whether that is damage or debris or something else caught in the front wing, so Lewis lost about 10 points of downforce, which meant it was a bit of a handful."

I know what it is: It's a big shame, cause with it, Hamilton would have won: Fastest all weekend! Big big shame.

It's just how they measure it I think, 10 points of downsforce, could be 10%, 10mm, anything like that I think

Thanks for the upload

His English is very good for a Spaniard, most MotoGP riders are limited to : "I ride bike, bike feeling good, I win, I very happy for team." :)

Was a good interview, however I still believe that they'll be behind Red BUll and McLaren next year. Who's going to design a world championship car for Ferrari? I don't see anybody, Newey is at Red Bull, Rory Byrne retired in 2007, Costa and Tombazis are at Mercedes GP now. Maybe they should hire Mike Coughlin, yes THE Mike Coughlin from Spygate, but he designed the 2007 McLaren which was a winner and the foundation for the 2008 championshp car...Ferrari have a very weak design team, that's why they don't win championships anymore since 2007 when the car was still desgned by Byrne and Costa.

Fully agree. I think his English is good because he lived in England for 6 years and was around an English team for so long (from 2002 until 2009).

Although just to correct you, I believe Tombazis is still at Ferrari, Costa was the scapegoat.

Of course, debris ruins Ham race. he would lapped all other cars if there's not debris on track. And sure this debris was placed there by Alonso or Massa waiting to step on by hamilton.

Stop crying. Vettel was faster on race.

Well I do believe Whitmarsh - Hamilton was electric through FPs and qualifying, yet seemed not too great in the race. And all race Lewis was complaining about the front wing on the radio, so there must have been a problem

Well, Vettel & Webber was on pole every race in this season, so if this one not, then surely they had a problem!!.

There must be a problem?, ok, maybe. But then, why they didn't change front wing in one pit stop?, they are stupid?, or they are crying and now say, we had a problem with debris, if not we would win the race.

They didn't win the race, stop crying. If there was a problem with front wing, replace it, if they didn't do, then they fails.

Do you see grid position vs race position this seasson.

If we use same point sytem to evaluate grid postion, this is result:

Vettel, (race) 349, (grid) 369, -20
Button, (race) 222, (grid) 186, +36
Alonso, (race) 212, (grid) 175, +37
Webber, (race) 209, (grid) 239, -30
Hamilton, (race) 196, (grid) 230, -34

So hamilton is top 5 driver who loose more points on race (vs grid position). Very nice said, Hamilton was so fast on qualy, so he must win. NOT, he used to loose on race what he get on qualy.

Button, loose too a lot of, Vettel, loose, but a less. And Button and Alonso wins a lot of points on race.

Your inability to see anything pro-Hamilton is incredible.

not, your ability to see everything pro-Hamilton is incredible.

See numbers, only Massa is worse than Hamilton.
Massa, (race) 98, (grid) 140, -42
And if you think eveytime Hamilton ruins Massa race this year, maybe, massa is better than Hamilton.

Hamilton is an exciting driver to watch and with being British, I tend to have more of an affinity with him. However, if you read my articles you'll know I'm impartial to every driver.

so that means that Ayrton Senna was the worst driver in F1 history because he lost the most positions in the race considering his grid position (-32) ? :zz:
