Hamilton is screwed anyway, although the stewards accepted the apologies the FIA are gathering information. So what penalty will that be..?

JoostLamers wrote:A reprimande? That means a double penalty! That's a bit stupid, you can't penalise someone twice. And that would be just a reaction on all the exaggerated commotion.

And when an apology isn't enough anymore, what more can he do???
A reprimand for the comments he made.

And its not being exaggerated. The fact is, he has accused the race stewards of being racist. Using a joke medium doesnt hide the underlying intentions which were present. He should be given a reprimand and bollocking, and then forget the episode.

Wonder how it would be if a white man claimed racism against black stewards. Same comments as now? Doubt it.

Why penalise someone for comments? We moan about them being PR robots, then when they say something, yet more moaning. What was the best part about Alonso in 2006? Well, many parts but the fact that he put two fingers up to the FIA by saying 'no longer a sport' was brilliant.

I feel drivers shouldn't generally be punished for comments made, but there's a big difference between simply criticising the stewards and (in effect) implying that the stewards are racist. That's a pretty serious accusation (and yes, I know he was probably joking a bit at the time) but I doubt that the FIA will see the funny side.

Well, it's true that F1 is no longer a sport (since 1979 to be exact), but the Stewards certainly aren't racists. There have been many times when Hamilton was given reprimands when he deserved real effective and meaningful punishments. So, in this regard, even if we'd give L.H. a 10 place drop in Canada, they won't because: read the bold letters. :O

it was wrong of Lewis to say those comments. A public apology (so that all fans realise that he is sorry) and more importantly a person apology to each of stewards (not in way of a statement but personally meeting each one of them) is what is required. Giving a penalty in no way will sort the issue out

Di Resta frustrated with himself

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/91905
While accepting blame for the collision, di Resta added that he felt the marshals had confused the situation by waving blue flags at Alguersuari as Lewis Hamilton approached - even though both the McLaren and the Force India were racing the Toro Rosso for position at that point.
But what I was quite annoyed about was that he got blue flags to let Lewis by, but I was behind Lewis and I never got the blue flags," said di Resta.
i am sure i saw this at one other time in this race - which is quite poor by the stewards- waving blue flag s when all involved are fighting for position (i dont remember who it involved exactly)

Yeah ice HAM was alot closer to Maldonado then to MSC when you compare the pics... MAL is rookie and is learning... these things happen, but it could have been avoided just like with MSC....

I think another thing to take into consideration, is that drivers were taking earlier turn-in's than the actual usual racing line. I saw a comparison of various drivers throughout the race going tighter into turn 1, because of the newly laid tarmic where the truck was on fire.

I think the variables are, Schumacher gave that place up. he was on much more worn tyres, and lets be honest, schumacher just doesnt have the fight. I swear its Ralph underneath that helmet!

But alas, a giving up schumacher aint the best comparison to a hungry maldanado is it?

Incredible everyone is talking about Hamilton and his agressive driving, while nobody here questions Algersuari being lapped, launching himself into Hamilton and Paul Di Resta making the exact same mistake as Hamilton into the Loews hairpin. This just shows how big Hamilton is. Lovely.
