Even given Spain's problems that is shockingly bad. Very few want to travel to that race from the rest of Europe it seems.
Last year I was speaking to a guy who goes to every European race and has done for a number of years, apart from Valencia. Went once in 2008, didn't like it and hasn't gone back since.

It'd be awesome if they cut the bit between Turns 2 & 5. Sadly a misjudged braking point for Turn 8 would result in a dip into the Med.
