Has anybody watched the Qatar opener? If so, I can't believe there isn't already a thread, because that was some seriously epic motor racing action.
The event featured a race-long battle between 2013 champion Marquez and back-on-form-veteran Rossi, with the former eventually emerging on top despite doubts over his fitness (you know, just broke a leg six weeks ago, the usual stuff). Three other riders held the lead for a time, but all ended up crashing out of a race that saw a rather high number of falls: Lorenzo and Bradl especially had big accidents that looked oddly similar, and from which they thankfully escaped unscathed.
After such a thrilling opener, I'm very pumped up for this season. However, I'm afraid that Marquez may once again prove impossible to beat once he'll be back to full fitness.

Re: MotoGP 2014
Yes I watched it (and was covering it for a publication). It was a thrilling race - action from start to finish. Lorenzo's crash was a shocker and I thought Bradl was extremely lucky to get away uninjured because he fell hard. Smith & Bautista crashed (no surprise there really) but the Marquez-Rossi fight was just utterly fantastic. A pleasure to watch the legend and his successor battling tooth and nail like they did.
Also, Marquez cannot be human. The things he does with that bike are just ridiculous.

Re: MotoGP 2014
Yeah, I couldn't believe the control he had when he almost ran into the back of Rossi... almost being the key word here.
I was especially shocked at Lorenzo's crash, his helmet hit the ground so hard that you could see sparks on the replay.
Is your article available online phil?

Amazing performance by Vinales in Moto2 and Marques in MotoGP. Really happy with the results.
