FIA Formula E Championship

Post by Joey Zyla » 09 Aug 2013, 08:48

I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS SO MUCH. Formula E - An all new competition for one-make, electrically-powered single-seaters. All teams will use McLaren engines, Michelin tyres, and Dallara chassis. Four teams have already been confirmed: China Racing, Drayson Racing and Vastha Racing from the UK and American team Andretti Autosport will all take part in the inaugural season. The 2014-15 season will run from September 2014 to June 2015 with races held at street circuits in Bangkok, Beijing, Berlin, Buenos Aires, London, Los Angeles, Miami, Putrajaya, Rio de Janeiro, and Rome.

I'm thrilled to see a new and innovative racing series getting off the ground. I know I've been critical of some of the more Eco- conscious developments in F1 (those of you who read my article know all about that), but FE is going to be something completely new from the ground up - a series designed to be different and maybe even a bit radical. Will the hum of electric motors be a worthy soundtrack for a motor race; time will tell, but I, for one, can't wait to see this get started!

I like how it's set to go on during F1's winter season. Hopefully it catches on and maybe give Bernie a headache every now and then; it'll be good for F1.

I've been looking forward to Formula E, I think it's really good it's going ahead. But what the actual f***?
At a press conference in Monaco, the series has announced that the vote-to-pass sytem will be used. We as viewers can vote for our favourite driver via Twitter.

Awsome. We can hold public votes and then hire Dermot O'leary to announce the winner X-factor style.

Can we have the least favourite driver being forced to pit!

Wow. They've jumped the shark before the first race.

I too will withhold my sentiments - this is an innovative series with some innovative ideas. Let's see how things shake out.

What, it's not like anyone expected Vettel to like a one-make series. :p
