Have there been more than usual? Are the tyres the matter?

Lorenzos bent his plate in the shoulder. Cal, dovi, hayden have. Bradl was fastest yesterday and today pedrosa has damaged his shoulder for the 7th time. Lorenzo out for atleast germany and usa. Pedrosa might be out. Crutchlow is injured.

moto 2 and 3 have been marres by tons of highsides too.

Serves Lorenzo right for not taking it easy while injured, though.

Have the riders themselves raised safety concerns regarding the tyres?

Many times.

5 accidents in Moto gp qualifying 1 right now, and there only 7 minuets ran in the session. And its not lorenzo's fault, he's doing his job and is declared fit enough lol. He wasnt even pushing the bike either.

Pedrosa has been ruled out of today's race.

On the plus side, it might help tighten the championship battle... but at what cost?

I know this is only the first half of the season, but I wonder if someone has already won the championship in his first year in MotoGP ?

Rossi in 2002... since it was the first year of the rebranded series. :p

More seriously, I don't know. Probably not in recent memory.

Rossi and Stoner both won in their second seasons. I can't think of anyone who has won in their first year.

Marquez crashed in the warm-up this morning, dislocating a shoulder in the process. It's unclear whether he'll be able to race this afternoon.

Should he withdraw, what a golden opportunity it would be for Pedro and Lorenzo to close the gap in the championship battle.

He'll still race. With the pace he has he can still bag loads of points for 5th or 6th.
