Re: Rallye Deutschland 2011
Hello all,
I spent a good part of the afternoon poking around your WRC board and really enjoy it.
This year's event was interesting especially with the new tires. As some may know from years past, tire cuts were a major portion of an event like this. With Germany's varying tarmac and always a chance of rain it was exciting to see the different tactics the teams would use. As with the gravel tires, even the hard compound slicks seem too soft and perhaps not reenforced well enough. It will be interesting to see if they are updated for France.
With the mention of tactics though, I will be happy to again see a reverse running order. I'm a bit like Solberg in the sense that I've never liked tactics. They were getting awfully extreme a couple of years back.
Ogier's comments (although not out of line) were completely unacceptable in front of the cameras. Keep quiet. People know youre upset but you cannot bash your bosses and team mates. Yes, he got screwed but Loeb means a lot to them and they owe it to him. Leaving would be a huge mistake but that said, he can't stay if he's going to be outraged with them.
All in all a great rally. The Mini is going to be a great competitor and with fair consistant Sordo behind the wheel, I think they'll have a decent number of points in the coming rallies. Congrats to both him and the mark.
