Bob Varsha and I just got kicked out of Gresham Speedway. I guess Kimi is a but nervous about his Truck test!

Kimi already making friends! :p
Jeff Gordon is right, the first press conference is going to be funny to watch

PS. I may criticise the boy for many things, but I will never do it for his dislike for journalists. I had to deal with some of them once because of professional reasons and they really got to my nerves. I ended up feeling very stressed. (Sorry if somebody here is a jouno, I'm sure you're one of the nice ones! )

It seems like most journos or the NASCAR drivers are thinking that Kimi is not going to say more than 2 words to his team or during a press conference ''hmm''
I'm not so worried about that, I think he's definitely capable of speaking. I'm just wondering if anyone in a NASCAR press conference will be able to understand him  We've been listening to him for years and we even have trouble figuring out what he's saying

From Bob Varsha's facebook:

And here I thought Kimi Raikkonen didn't care what anyone thinks! Turned up at Gresham MP, a grand total of four people including a cameraman in this beautiful short track, and we were all asked to leave before the Kimster turned a lap in Kyle Busch's NCWS truck. Too bad, really, and a missed opportunity for everyone involved.

Well I can understand him! It´s his first try and if I were Kimi I wouldn´t want a camera to film it! :)
Besides I also feel sorry fpr Bob Varsha! But I think that he had to reckon that no press is allowed :D
Kimi Kimi gimme just a little smile :)

"One thing puzzles me in Räikkönen's Nascar-switch"

The reason for Kimi's switch to Nascar-tracks is his curiosity for American racing, Erkki Mustakari from MTV3 believes.

- Kimi can say that he knows what F1 and WRC are but he doesn't know what American racing on oval tracks with different cars is like. If you would be a 30 something multi-millionaire who wants to race, then of course you get the urge to try out everything that has sometimes crossed your mind, Mustakari reminds.

Räikkönen has had to learn WRC from scratch. It will probably be easier for him to adjust to Nascar.

- Although they are driving on almost only oval tracks I still believe that Kimi learns it faster than in rally, Mustakari thinks.

Yet one thing puzzles Mustakari.

- American motorsport and professional sport in general is very much pro media where drivers just aren't at the disposal of the media, they also want to be that. How does it suit a "strange bird" like Kimi who likes the least to co-operate with the media, which is part of a professional driver's job? The situation with Kimi is clearly like this, therefore I find the whole idea strange, Mustakari thinks.

MTV3 - Lauri Ouvinen ja Antti Rämänen
Kimi Kimi gimme just a little smile :)

A translation of a tweet from diegofmejia

As I could establish, Kimi Raikkonen @ GreshamMP wheel from 10am today with @ KyleBuschMS. All ok so far. NASCAR # # # F1 WRC
So its gonna be a mix of Ravishing Black and White for Kimi Raikkonen this season

I can't upload to youtube, might try when I arrive home, but in the video hosts say (except for info we've known):

kimi would do Charlotte, Martinsville in fall, and Homestead in winter. Kimi has signed 3 races with KBM. He has to make races fitting in his WRC season.
Kimi does trucks for fun and curiosity, and whether he'll like it is to be seen. KBM would do the same "wait and see" routine.
Kyle hopes to expand, possibly full season next year and provides 2-3 trucks, so Kimi would fit in the bigger future.
Communication might be an issue though. English
Sunday afternoon KBM did all adjustments such as belt fit, seating fit and telling him what/where the truck parts are, making him comfortable

Might not be very accurate and complete coz i was watching it with my bagel and coffee

Com'on that's not fair. Kimi's English is very good, once he gets over a volume threshold it's very easy to understand him. I have many more problems to understand Dani Sordo (in English, of course) and he's Spanish!

Interesting the "future" issue. As far as Gillett is not involved, I'm a happy chick.

By American standards Kimi's English definitely fails that many Americans don't even understand Irish/Scottish Accent

Don't laugh but sometimes when I watch British/Irish/Scottish movies I need to use subtitles
