Raikkonen: Jordan my best rally yet

Kimi Raikkonen labeled his sixth place on last week's Jordan Rally as his best performance in the World Rally Championship.

Citroen-driving Raikkonen was looking likely to equal his best ever WRC result - fifth on last year's Rally of Turkey - until a penultimate-stage puncture dropped him behind Matthew Wilson's Ford at the finish.

"I have been pushing harder on this rally and trying to be quicker," said Raikkonen. "The driving has felt better. On the final morning, it didn't start very well, but I was happy with the afternoon. Okay, it was a shame for the puncture, but we're moving forward now, this felt like my best event."

Raikkonen will now miss the next two WRC rounds, returning to the series in time for the Acropolis Rally in June.

"We have a test before then," said Raikkonen. "I'm not worried about the gap, it is what it is, we didn't do any [driving] over the winter."

Last week's Jordan Rally was Raikkonen's 15th World Rally Championship outing and the eighth on which he's scored points. The Finn has scored on all three WRC rounds he has contested this season.
