About that tire thing - I didn't get it as I don't know the tire regulations in WRC. How will he benefit from choosing soft tires in SS3 in case if it rains in SS4?

They cant change the tyres anymore.
But how soft tires will help him in case of rain if they cannot change the tires in SS4? How soft tires might be better in rain than hard ones?

Softer compound might have more grip
Hmm. On the other hand, after the SS3 soft tires are more worn out than hard ones, thus less chance to get some grip... However, now I have to admit that such is the situation in WRC - if the rain comes, you are lucky to be on softs.. It is worth to remember it. :)

Where on earth do you get those?

Quite a long break between stages... I'm going for a cup of coffee and some smokes. Who's going with me?

In tarmac rally for the rain the best option is a softer tyre. It is the same thing that he did at Rally Lanterna when he gained ~30s to Ogier for chosing the softer compound.

Thanks! I missed Lanterna totally..

ps. In the afterthought - it is logical that soft tires work better in the rain (if not already worn out), because the softer compound is easier to get warmed up even in cold weather and soft compound has much more grip in general by being... softer!

We are like a force waiting to be released - no wonder we were walking on the walls before this rally and imagine Luie even considering the option of us not being in this thread - impossible
