sorry about your football team, i thought they had a chance at winning, but i dont know much about your football  ,now i love our football.NY JETS. hope your tooth feels better, but that dreaded word dentist.
i like your mark webber idea , he just walks away.
yes kimi in red bull in 2011!!!!,

i have a feeling i am going to get a good ribbing from red about my football team.

Thanks Maria and Acropolis for the nice wishes  The toothache has eased a bit since I woke up this morning - that's painkillers for you!

As for my football team, England were just appalling. I won't go on about it here because I could be here for hours but I'll just say it was disappointing to watch and if we had to go out then at least we could have gone out with some dignity! :<>: Anyway, my team for the World Cup now is Spain. I really hope they go all the way :shhh:

I have no idea about your football either, Maria, I've heard it can last about 4 hours though - I may be mistaken lol :p

Please don't misunderstand me, I'm a greek who studied for six years in New York, but Texas ( even if I felt it is very beautiful) it always felt a bit frightening and intimidating....we always got the impression that perhaps strangers and people from other cultures might not be so welcome there...I never visited so I don't know and cannot have an opinion but this was an idea that even Newyorkers would transmit to us....
Again please don't misunderstand me, perhaps is the far west idea that intimidates me.....and I hate guns and wars.......have heard so many stories from my father...
I feel total the opposite. I have never been to Texas so there is a good chance that the image I have in my head is totally false. But when I think of Texas I think of big open spaces, big ranches, horses, guns, rodeo, I think of times when men were men not a bunch of metrosexuals. I watched a video with Marcus Luttrell/lone survivor on youtube and he, to me, represents that Texan spirit.

On the other hand I also heard that Austin is one of the most fun, "party-friendly" cities in the US so they canĀ“t be that unwelcoming.
Mr Luttrell is the opitomy of Texas. God bless that man. We may make you feel intimidated at first, Ill admit, but it is just because we are very protective of our way of life. As long as you dont move in all guns blazing and decide you think we should change this and that, then you will be greeted with open arms  We do not like others treading on our turf without respect (you hearing me Washington......) Austin is the liberal city, so it would be a good place for a Euro to start with to get acclimated to us. :hatoff:

Nah, cant stand the Cowgirls  ....... Love to laugh as they bust every fall! Im from Indy, go Colts!

As for REAL football, watch out for Germany. The two young guns are going to burn Maradona's weak back line. Messi better wake up and start scoring if they want to get past the krauts.

Prediction: Germany 2 Brazil 1 Finals Germany wins #5

Brazil will have a very tough out with the Netherlands. Brazil will have to hold 60% possession of the ball and will eventually frustrate the Orange into giving up a goal on a quick counter.

Rooney looked like the walking dead. Hell I could have scored before he would have! Gerrard was the only one who impressed me. He was the only one with fire and even though he is not the most talented player for them, played like it. Crouch was a lumbering buffoon, Heskey looked 80, and Wright-Phillips ran around a lot but did nothing. Disappointing Ill say......

Team USA played as a team more, but still not like they should have. Donovan went up big time in my book, I never thought he had it in him to be a leader. Bradley played his bald head off. Altidore should have been benched, big lumbering, whinny waste of a spot. Back line should be lined up on a firing squad. "Who's got the ball, heyuck heyuck??? Oh shucks, they scored!"

Drink a ***** Red Bull before the game guys!!!!!

that was nice to read those sayings about Texas. The place I am from has something similar. I might translate them and post at some point.

You forgot Lampard - he was doing well, not his best, but better than many.

OMG!! They play really good. Soooooo cute  I love cats! In Brazil I have 3, I already miss them so much *_*, here my bf have a big cat (Viivi) , it looks a tiger heheh
I'm more of a dog-person myself, but cats are cute too :) You have Brazil/Suomi as your location, do you live in Finland??? Viivi the cat sounds very Finnish :p
I am brazilian, but my boyfriend is finnish, that's why 'Brazil/Suomi'. Sometimes we are in Brazil, sometimes in Finland, now we are in Finland - Lappeeranta, because is summer and have a rally too, I can't wait for that. Maybe we're getting married soon, so I can get to Finnish nationality and stay here longer. But OMG, finnish language is veeeeeeeeery difficult. hehe

yeah Viivi sounds very finnish!! :D

Grew up playing "sissy ball." it took a huge collapse from you guys to get to the point of the third goal even being an issue. Frankly I thought that ref was the best barring the goal call. He made them play and didn't call BS fouls until late in the game. Shame he screwed that call up.

I was too busy being impressed by Gerrard to be honest. I think it's wrong Capello is already being confirmed. They should hold his feet to the fire for awhile.

Oh another disappointment, Beckham. Hey prissy, get your #%#**%# off the bench and fire the guys up! don't just sit there with that stupid "I'm pretty" look on your face. So you can't play tuff. Doesn't mean don't be involved!

USA:SLO was to me one of the best games of the tournament, even if we lost the 2:0 lead.
I am impressed with Germany. They are not exactly a star team but they get the job done.
