Good one, I like it

Especially the capitalization of Santander, that really made me laugh

Soren, I feel bad but I loved your review....it may be biased as you say, but I am biased too...what happened today was ....a nightmare! I don't want to face it, but I feel same as you!

If Red Bull keeps Webber but don’t want to keep on sponsoring Kimi in WRC alleging he crashes out too much, wouldn’t it be a contradiction in terms? Image
:zz: what did you say Marko problems to read the text RED BULL because the car is upside down??

... and dont take me wrong I actually would be happy if Mark got the WDC but the man himself doesn't seem to want the title...:

Raikkonen upbeat over rally future
By Giles Wade

Kimi Raikkonen remains upbeat about his future in rallying, despite crashing on his second run through the Rally de Espana shakedown stage on Thursday and damaging his car’s roll cage so badly that he was unable to take part in the event.

“It was just one of those stupid things that happens sometimes: I touched the bank and the car rolled,” said Raikkonen. “It’s the sort of thing that if you’re lucky you get away with it. It’s a pity as I think it was a rally that might have suited us but now we’ll never know. I’m obviously disappointed, but I’ve been around motorsport for long enough to know that disappointments are part of the game; it’s how you deal with them that matters. Now I’m looking forward to our next event and I’m going to concentrate on the future. That’s always more interesting than the past.”

The 30-year-old’s future next year is still not settled, as his principal sponsor Red Bull is unwilling to extend its full backing for another season. Raikkonen has been talking to rival energy drink firm Monster, in connection with the second drive alongside Ken Block in a Ford Fiesta next year, and he has also been approached by Mini.

However, the Finn says that things are still a long way from being settled for next year.

“I’d like to keep on rallying if it’s possible, but we’ve not finalized our plans for next year,” he said. “Of course I have to decide soon, but for the time being there is nothing in place.”
Raikkonen added that he was hoping to have his situation resolved before Rally Great Britain in mid-November but that there was “nothing guaranteed”.
is this just a interpretation from what he said on the press conference or jet another statement...

So in Red Bull we have:
  • A driver, owner of a very big mouth, making stupid mistakes the whole season
  • Another driver whose car breaks down each two races, and when that’s not the case he makes a stupid mistake.
  • A team boss and a “driver counsellor” forgetting the most basic lessons they learnt in “team management 101” (criticising drivers in front of the media…), the thing ends up with calls in English speaking countries to boycott the drink the owner of the team produces.
  • A team owner putting more millions into the project as the season advances, because they’re at risk of losing both championships. That money has to come from somewhere so they have to cut sponsorship in other sports.
The saddest thing: they have the best car on the grid, by far.
I so know your feeling... its like looking at a very bad comedy ...

thanks Julia

there is some contradiction here

“I’d like to keep on rallying if it’s possible, and hoping to have his situation resolved " sound like it's not 100 % up to him

"we’ve not finalized our plans for next year,” , “Of course I have to decide soon" sounds like he makes the decision

They actually have too many drivers at the moment. They have tree drivers under contract to next year.

  i just want him all to my self...your right they have a driver who is out sick with a blood clot problem and he may or may not drive next year, so they have to many drivers at this time.
thanks julia for the laugh.

my guess??

“I’d like to keep on rallying if it’s possible, and hoping to have his situation resolved " sound like it's not 100 % up to him -> he likes to keep on rallying if he finds the sponsors needed? if not who knows...

"we’ve not finalized our plans for next year,” , “Of course I have to decide soon" sounds like he makes the decision -> the decision which is quite much up to him is which team (if he continues rallying), and he needs to make that decision soon? He was talking something about the "right path for the future" when he mumbled about it in the press conference

i think kimi will stay in rally, i know i said red bull f1 in 2011 for a long time. i think he loves rally, and he does what he loves, not what others want him to do.

Confusing to me. I have a deja vue. I don´t trust this maxrally site but hmm, if tomorrow autosport says that I would do^^

I have nothing for next year so far and when I know more I will let you know but now there's no decision. For sure it would be nice to do rally again because I have much more experience than I had to start the year. Now it's really up to me what I would like to do so we'll see in the future.

Unfortunately, there's no decision yet. There are some options and, for sure, I have to choose very quickly and choose the right one for myself.

Maybe I have made the decision about my future by the time of the last race, Räikkönen said on Thursday.

maybe he is trying to negotiate with redbull or mercedes to let him have a few rallies in between f1 races and he put it out there to these teams to see if they bite. hence "the choices" are not his to make, "nothing is guaranteed" and most importantly he'd "like to keep on rallying IF it is possible next year." I think he would be happy to be able to do both like he did in ferrari, wouldn't you? The only question is which team would bite???

And the race yesterday showed RB how much they need a real driver who can step it up when he needed to. I'm not saying that they have to pick kimi but kimi has been proven to be that man when he is called upon to lift the team - ala 2009.

I think the team are prepared to lose the WDC since they can still aim for WCC. As a team owner, I wouldn't jeopardize the future of the team by asking vettel to play a supporting role for the sake of the WDC title and to support the one who has said he would not support his team mate (in the past) and who threw his own race/chances by himself. If the team asked vettel, I am sure vettel would walk! Team sport or not, it is just wrong to have to ask vettel to help someone who is beyond help himself and who would not even help his teammate before. Sincerely, webber does not deserve any help.

I wonder if martin witmarsh is regreting taking jenson button on now - and with a 3 year contract no less! he's been overshadowed by hamilton more than a couple of times now and he canlt seem to make do with a car that doesn't fit his style. I am sure if Vettel is walking, MW would break jenson's contract in a heartbeat.

bren, I agree with you regarding JB. LH is not even driving well this year & JB is still overshadowed by LH. MW should have got our boy instead. :zz: As for Red Bull, seems like they won't win both WDC & WCC. Macca is closing in for WCC & ": " is leading the WDC now. :<>:

@ Lynx'niK

maxrally should be a quite trustful site in Kimi quotes/news. its keeped up by a couple of freelance journalist of who one of them is also Kimis pr-person...

about the quotes, yeah... it seem that at the moment he just seems to opend his mouth and say something which includes(atleast i my mind): no final decision, I have to decide, I want to keep on rallying if I can (ie its not my decision).... and as I understand he has given just two statements last weekend (press conf. and now maxrally) the other you listed whas from France and thre weeks ago even if we saw them first time a couple of day ago.

I have an interview here where Malcolm Wilson and Olivier Quesnel are talking about Kimi's future in the WRC (I think it's from Spain)
http://www.mediafire.com/?tcbkdld62necgh7

The only problem is that I don't have a youtube account so I'm hoping someone here  would be nice enough to upload it to their account so that we can share with everyone else here?
