I think that too. IF he will return to F1 for 1-2-3 years, later he can go back to rally. I wouldn't mind it. But at first - as Maria said - he should finish his F1 career in style and not the way 2009 ended. He's much more than that. That's my opinion.

Adam Cooper talks a little on the 'silly season' here's his take on Kimi's situation.

"If Webber does stay on at RBR, it would seem to leave Kimi Raikkonen in no-man’s land. I had a long chat with him in Monaco, and he made it pretty clear that he’s keeping his options open and that he has yet to decide on whether to return to F1.

If the obvious Red Bull door closes, where would he go? Renault might appeal if Kubica leaves, but would the team want him? We know he’s not going to be the team-building, motivating-force that an Alonso or Kubica can be. As I said, this is a fickle world, and people are forgotten very quickly – not so long ago he was the man everybody wanted.

Clear evidence that there could be changes afoot at Ferrari is the fact that Felipe Massa and his manager Nicolas Todt have indicated that they are looking around, so it seems that the Brazilian could well be making way for Kubica. Massa then becomes another interesting candidate for Red Bull (don’t forget the boss knows him well from his Sauber days), or even Renault.

It’s strange to be talking about this sort of thing when we’re only in May, and there are still 13 races to go. But that’s F1 for you...

I don´t think and speculate about it too much. I´m only waiting for Kimi´s decision. If I think about it too much and hope too much that he will come back and it isn´t so in the end, I´ll get too much disappointed.

Everybody seems to be so smitten with this "team builder - motivator" image, but are these guys really like that? They clearly trying to forge a one-man team with themselves in the leading role. The other guy is there just to pick up points for the team. That's not team-building, that's just trying to be the top dog at any cost.

Just becos he comes off as being aloof doesn't mean he is not a team player/motivator. I believe Kimi is every bit a team player. His job is to drive and tell his engineers what he wants, nothing more, nothing less...I mean he even let Massa do all the "I'm the first driver" talking and shares his data without any fuss.

As for being a motivator, I believe he is very good with his team members since he has history in Mac that says he will over-ride even Ron Dennis where his team is concerned. So I say these journos are really shallow, judging a book by its cover like that

Actually Cooper is anything but shallow, which is exactly why I was surprised that he used that term as wrongly as it is so common in F1. What they call team-building can actually destroy the team like we saw in 2007
Kimi IS different, and I see why others regard his behaviour as a weakness. He's a killer only on track, while it's expected to be like that offtrack too. He motivates with his racing, not by machiavellian tricks, and I like him for that.

Yes, every reporter wants to be on a nerve of the situation and they are giving hints to this and that direction only by saying the same arguments. Everyone of them wants to be the first reporter who said whats going to happen with Kimi and no one of them knows thruth as we dont either.
Personally I believe Kimi has an option and choice to make and right now if I am talking about my gut feeling, I feel he is in the middle of rally and F1 right now. It probably depends where he is, as he was in Monaco, he had a change to make comparisons between the two sports , smell the athmosphire of F1 glamour and go thru his memories..But now its time to do some rallying and I truly feel he hasnt made up his mind yet. In that aspect this rally is quite important to Kimi.
Let the man drive and lets enjoy about it as we have been various times here, forget the F1 and throw yourself with these wonderfull fans that follow Kimis every move at the stages second by second. There is something to watch.

Well, I don't even try to speculate, but I know there are journos whom Kimi trusts. Kulta and Cooper are part of that small circle. I think sometimes they know more than they reveal

Agree with the getting forgotten thingy! He is out of F1 and can´t prove his class! People don´t talk that much about him any more

maybe that is Kimi's ploy...to take a year off to be forgotten by blood-sucking journos and sneak back in so that he can let other people who like/dun mind being in the limelight shine (ie schummy, fonzi, massy, webby, the list goes on). Cos I refuse to believe team bosses have forgotten a proven driver like kimi
