Another reason why I say that his F1 time is over is that I think that RB might have asked Kimi whether he even wants to return...remember all the rumours at the beginning of the season. Kimi might have already told him that he wants to stay at Rally.

It would have been great for Kimi to be in RB next year in terms of being in a top car fighting for the title straight away (probably) but by being in Merc he would take the pressure off himself a little. Sure, it might not be the championship winning car he would be looking for straight away, but doing well in a slightly sucky car would do his already awesome reputation no harm and then go on to drive for RB in 2012.
