So maybe there really is an opening at Mercedes, no matter how much they try to deny it?
Interestingly, Eddie said the same thing around the time of Belgian race but then it was denied by Haug & Brown.
sleenster, did i get you right that he said that again while commenting on Japanese GP?

Ah everyone waiting for tomorrow's announcement?
Yeah. we are all waiting eagerly Kimi to announce his move to Minnesota Wild organisation which will shake the whole F1 world or at least finnish F1 fans.

I think EJ did say during Suzuka something like Schumacher should be leaving, but I don't think he said anything about Brawn. But yeah, EJ originally started the rumour around Spa. It doesn't matter if Mercedes deny it, usually they don't admit these things until all the deals are done and everything is settled.
I have a tendency to ignore what EJ says but my point was that last year, everyone was saying that there was absolutely no way that Schumacher was going to make a comeback. EJ was the first person to break the news and even journalists like James Allen (who claims that he has the best contacts in F1) were rolling their eyes at EJ. But EJ turned out to be right in the end so maybe he does have some good inside info about Schumacher and Brawn?
This is the speculation thread after all so I am allowed to have crazy theories

As I was watching the Japan GP today, I got a very weird feeling....as it was positive that Kimi would be back in GPs...just a feeling, for the first time after last season. I always believed he was not coming back, but now I'm not sure anymore...again only a feeling!

Well folks I "saw" Kimi in a bar in London last night, he was partying with some hunky pals of his. Wait a minute ............must have been a dream I was skinny and wearing my really high heeled shoes of long ago and had loads of cash in my pocket!................no pain and money....hmm must have been a dream.
I guess when Kimi knows what he wants to do and put all the wheels in motion then we will know too.

well, sound as he has actually started to go through his options because he started to exclude some of them in public. We already can assume that Nascar is not a option, neither is Renault... so a good start.
... but I still counting on no announcement before december and take anything before that as a positive surprise.

@Icemaid, that's right, it's M-day today
Last year Kimi was busy signing the thick bundle of papers with Red Bull while we were thinking it was McLaren. Now Heikki Kulta used those same words about signing the thick bundle of papers so methinks he already has a contract, it's just too early to announce it.
Last week Helmut Marko said that they offered Kimi a seat in Red Bull this year but Kimi said no. Mark was under contract for this year back then.
Last week in the same interview Helmut Marko said that both their seats are taken so there's nothing to discuss about.
What's the difference? Isn't he contradicting himself?
